📣 PHILSTAGERS’ VINCE TAÑADA AND JOHNREY RIVAS TO STAR IN A MUSICAL PLAY IN GREECE!

From the Philippine stage to the international spotlight!

Philstagers Theater Foundation proudly celebrates another milestone as two of its leading artists, Vince Tañada and Johnrey Rivas, take center stage in Athens, Greece, for the musical reimagining of Bienvenido “Boy” Noriega’s acclaimed play, BAYAN-BAYANAN, on October 18, 2026, at the prestigious Parnassos Literary Society Theater in Athens.

Vince Tañada, an award-winning actor, classical tenor, playwright, and film and theater director, joins Johnrey Rivas, an accomplished actor and baritone, as the principal performers in this international theatrical production, presented for the Greek and Filipino communities in Greece.

The production is directed and reimagined by internationally acclaimed theater director, scholar, and literary luminary Dr. Anton Juan, whose artistic vision breathes new life into this powerful Filipino masterpiece.

BAYAN-BAYANAN is a deeply moving, multi-character story exploring the lives, struggles, sacrifices, dreams, and enduring hopes of Filipino migrant workers living abroad. Its themes resonate even more profoundly today, as Europe continues to confront complex issues surrounding migration, identity, displacement, and belonging.

Having previously been staged in Paris, Geneva, Italy, London, and Chicago, this celebrated theatrical work now arrives in Athens with a revitalized musical interpretation and a new cast led by Tañada and Rivas.

Both artists were personally handpicked by Dr. Anton Juan, a remarkable recognition of their artistry and standing as two of the country’s leading musical theater performers.

For Philstagers Theater Foundation, this international engagement is more than another artistic achievement. It is a testament to the extraordinary talent of Filipino theater artists and the power of Philippine theater to transcend geographical, cultural, and linguistic boundaries. From performing across the Philippines to representing Filipino artistry on the European stage, Vince Tañada and John Rey Rivas continue to prove that Filipino talent truly belongs on the world stage! by @philstagersofficial
