Welcome (back) to St Andrews and the Philosophy School!

To help you get a little taster of what the philosophy community here is like, join us for these Philosophy related events during Week 0. Meet some current philosophy students and staff, ask questions before classes begin, and start your journey as a philosophy student.

Even if you are not a fresher, I highly suggest checking out the Philosophy Society Garden Party!

If you have any questions about the department, your degree, or getting involved, feel free to DM this account or email philosophypresident@st-andrews.ac.uk by @philstandrews

‼️Mid-semester survey, link in bio‼️

The first mid-semester survey is now live! This is YOUR chance to provide feedback on how your modules are going thus far. Your feedback will be relayed to the faculty so that module coordinators will know what’s working and what’s not and make appropriate changes.

We need to know what you think to represent you accurately, so go fill in the survey! by @philstandrews

Looking for a way to connect with the other subjects in your School? Join the Departments of Film Studies, Social Anthropology, and Philosophy, in a FREE screening of Danny Boyle’s ‘Shallow Grave’ (1994) from 6-8pm, Tuesday 14th October in School III!

Boyle’s noir debut follows three flatmates in Edinburgh trying to find a fourth person to share the rent (sound familiar?); their rampantly obnoxious behaviour leads to some scathing, albeit satisfying karma…

We look forward to seeing you all there!

The Philosophy Society’s publication, Aporia and Femporia, undergraduate philosophy research journals, are opening up cover design this year, so please share this poster with friends and groups you’re a part of which might be interested, and feel free to enter yourselves. Any medium (e.g., photography, painting, digital art) is welcomed — they need both an Aporia and Femporia cover. by @philstandrews
