Our sisterhood is shaped by the beauty of our differences. Every background, story, and perspective adds depth to who we are. At Phi Mu, diversity isn’t just welcomed. It’s what makes our sisterhood stronger, richer, and more meaningful. by @phimu_dei

Equity means understanding that every sister’s journey looks different, and honoring that with care, support, and intention. In our sisterhood, equity is about showing up for one another, creating access to opportunities, and making sure everyone has what they need to grow and thrive.” by @phimu_dei

Inclusion is the feeling of belonging without having to change who you are. It’s being seen, heard, and valued in every space we share. At Phi Mu, inclusion means building a sisterhood where everyone feels at home; wrapped in support, kindness, and love. by @phimu_dei

September is Suicide Prevention Month 💛 This month is a reminder that checking in, listening, and simply letting someone know you’re there can make a bigger difference than you realize. You never know what someone may be going through, so don’t be afraid to reach out.

Instead of open-ended offers, try something concrete like “Can I bring you dinner tonight?” Invite them to low-energy activities like a movie night, ask whether they want to vent or want advice, and gently acknowledge when you notice something feels off. Send low-pressure messages like “Thinking of you and sending love and hugs!” Most importantly, keep reaching out consistently. You may not always get a response, but knowing someone is there can mean so much. 💗

Here are some ways a few of our juniors help regulate their own mental health and practice self care :)

In honor of the first full day of Hanukkah sophomore Ali Sandler, shares what Hanukkah means to her!❤️ “For me Hanukkah has always been my favorite Jewish holiday! Hanukkah describes the miracle of how the oil burned for 8 days, thus there being 8 nights. Growing up, I would always have “Hanukkah parties” with my friends from Temple where we would play games like dreidel and make latkes. Now, the holiday has a new meaning for me! Because I go to school 5 hours away from home, Hanukkah is the time where I get to focus on family. It always falls during J-Term, so every night I get to light the candles with the people I love most!” by @phimu_dei

Junior Allison Lee shares what DEI means to her & some aspects of her identity that she celebrates within Phi Mu 💙

“I’ve grown up with health issues my entire life — as a child, I developed a bone infection in my leg that had gone septic, and I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have walked away from it with both legs (more importantly, my life). Growing up, I always felt like I was more isolated from my peers because of these issues. I remember wishing every night that I would wake up with a different body. Last semester, I had a major flare up with my skin that left me feeling like a backseat driver to my own life. I thank all my lucky stars that I’ve found the most amazing group of friends and support system through Phi Mu — I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without them. Every day I was reminded of how loved and valued I am by my awesome roommates and best friends, and was reminded of my strength and resilience. Even on days I don’t feel beautiful and don’t feel strong, I know my girls will always have my back — I will forever be grateful to do life with them!”
