“Phish takes the stage at approximately 7:30, and it becomes clear immediately that we’re in for something ~different~ tonight. The first “Tweezer” opener since 12/31/2022, this concise and blissy 15-minute rendition makes for a rousing kickoff. Clocking in just over 15 minutes, our journey into the sticky and humid Floridian freezer has only just begun.”

Jacksonville recap is on the blog now thanks to @ianzigel. Hope everyone travels safely to Huntsville!

“Tonight they made choices over and over again that said, good enough is not good enough anymore. Phish seem to want to stay out on the edge of uncharted territory and see where they end up. It’s a great time to see the band.” Recap of RVA N2 on the blog now!

Phish is playing two sold-out shows in Richmond this week, their first in Richmond since 1994.

"It's good to be back here. It's been too long," Phish co-founder Trey Anastasio said following the band's second song of the night, "Free."

Anastasio, who doesn't always address the audience at a Phish concert, spoke again just before the encore.

"It's really a thrill for us to be here in Richmond," Anastasio said. "We used to play here a lot. And then, all of a sudden, we didn't, which sucked. And it really means a lot to us to be back here. So thank you for welcoming us."

The encore, "Joy," was perhaps picked as both a reflection of the band's feelings about their Richmond return and most certainly described the emotions felt by Richmond-area Phish fans, some of whom have waited a lifetime for a hometown show. by @phishdotnet

@phish returns to Richmond, VA after 32 years, great outdoor venue, about 7k capacity. Great show with good friends, longest bathroom lines ever for the guys, but they moved pretty fast. Blessed to be here, thanks @phishdotnet for the opportunity to 📷 my favorite band. ❤️ 🔥 taken in Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront by @phishdotnet

“When it became clear Page was making his way to the biggest and loudest musical instrument on earth, the audience lost it. The smooth, warm sounds of the organ gently bathed the entire hall, and wrapped around us like the sonic equivalent of a weighted blanket...”

“Not only are we lucky enough to watch the greatest band in the world night in and night out, but we get to do it with incredible people. Whenever a tragedy in our community happens, it is deeply felt, whether or not you knew the individual. So at tonight’s show, whether at Boardwalk Hall or on the couch, I hope everyone can make an intention to be thankful for the music and the people around us…and if you get a chance, thank a taper”

thanks to Brad Strode for recapping N2 of AC ❤️ on the blog now
