Hello UPJ!

Our president, Kate Mehlenbeck, was selected to run for homecoming royalty!

If you don’t know… Kate has been a keystone in our chapter by helping us rebuild, recruit, and foster connections between sisters. She is also the president of SNAPJ, an orientation leader, and is working through her senior year as a nursing major.

Voting is live RIGHT NOW, and will close Friday the 16th at 12pm. The QR code on the post can be used to connect you to the poll. You can also access the form through experience pitt (Campus Activities and Engagement page).

Vote Kate Mehlenbeck! 💙💛 by @phisig_upj

Incase you didn’t know… the Involvement Fair is this Wednesday!

We will have a table in the university square (aka: the area around the gazebo that is outside of the student union). The rain location is in the Cambria Room

If you are interested in rushing: make sure you fill out the interest form to give the Fraternity Sorority Advisor permission to let the groups know you have met the minimum academic requirements for rush (this form is in Heather’s “What’s up Wednesday” email from last week & can be found in the recruitment section)

“Float into FSL”: if you loved meeting us at the fair and want to know more information about our organization there will be a meeting after the fair in the Cambria room

We hope to see you there

We’ve been busy! Recently, our new members Angie and Emilee got their bigs, Lina and Kate, and then got initiated this past week! We are so excited to have them as part of our sisterhood 💝 We also were honored to win the Mountain Cat Strong award at the Mountain Cat awards yesterday! We had a great year and can’t wait to kick off next year and continue to build our sisterhood! 🫶💐 by @phisig_upj

SPSEA & Phi Sigma Sigma held a book drive for National Reading Week to collect books for elementary, middle, and high school students at local Johnstown schools. Some SPSEA members and education majors, who are student teaching, took books to their student teaching classrooms. In order, Emily Reskovac took books to 1st grade at Conemaugh Township, Abigail Grosholz took books to 2nd grade at Conemaugh Township, Loren Donatelli took books to Shade Central City middle school, and Ben Cotchen and Vincent Gongloff took books to Ferndale High School. SPSEA and Phi Sigma Sigma are very thankful to have had this opportunity to work together and help students. We want to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated books and helped make this happen. by @phisig_upj
