Phreeagent Turns One (And I Almost Missed It) Turns out, our anniversary passed without me even realizing—until @LinkedIn started sending me congrats messages and people began reaching out. That’s when it hit me: Phreeagent Creative Media just turned one, and at the same time, I’ve officially been in video production for 20 years. Back in 2005, I started as a producer at Ace Film Company, and co-founded Ocean Media BC with @darkosikman in #Vancouver. After moving to the Okanagan and working with Sproing for almost a decade, I started Phreeagent last year. Since then, I’ve had the chance to collaborate on all kinds of projects, with amazing people. And now, leading Phreeagent in Vernon, BC, I get to continue doing the kind of work I love—with the kind of clients who truly get it. It’s been a packed and rewarding first year. Some highlights from Year One: 💫Edited the documentary @horsewomandoc , produced for TELUS @storyhive with artist @mariel_belanger Belanger MFA @sienna.belanger Worked with the @freshoutlookfoundation twice, documenting their C.A.R.E. events and climate action work by our local students Produced brand and podcast content for clients including @ultradeckflooring @cabin_works_ @sascufinancialgroup @cityofvernon @intimate.wellbeing @transistor.fm @feedyoursoul_podcast @wesmontgroup @lekkerlanddesign and many more Collaborated with @cfnokanagan and @bepurppl on a local impact video tied to the documentary screening of @uncharitablemovie Movie Nominated for Best New Business by the @greater_vernon_chamber —a huge honour in our first year And yes, we still managed to have fun on set—because when people feel comfortable and confident, the best stories come out naturally. Grateful, Always To every client, partner, and creative we’ve worked with—thank you. To @randi.lynnmarie Buerfeind — our drone pilot/videographer/photographer and steady force behind the scenes—couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you @permiekeli Westgate and Ben for your love and support. And to everyone who’s messaged, shared, or supported us this past year: we see you and appreciate you. THANK YOU! ❤️ by @phreeagentcreative
Fun night!!! Honoured to have been nominated for Best New Business at the @greater_vernon_chamber Business Excellence Awards tonight at the @vernonperformingarts . Congratulations to @nobleyogastudio and a HUGE shout out to all the nominees in ALL categories tonight. A massive heart filled congratulations and love to Lynella Henke and her family and staff @vernonteachandlearn and for Trevor Henke joining us tonight. It’s an outstanding and inspiring business community period. Proud to be part of it. Thank you for your continued support Vernon and thank you Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce ❤️❤️ by @phreeagentcreative
Week 2 has been nothing short of amazing! Our website has gone live, and we’ve released our first completed #podcast project of #2024. The genuine support, confidence, and love from the community have been unbelievable. THANK YOU! I honestly didn’t expect such a smooth launch. Despite having a tight timeline since the beginning of December when I started planning this, it seems that the hard work I’ve put in over the past ten years, building my portfolio and filmmaking skills, hasn’t gone unnoticed. I’ve always been passionate about creating impactful videos that showcase the businesses, wonderful people, and the sights and sounds of the Okanagan region. I’m also incredibly honored and excited to share some news about our @storyhive Storyhive/Telus Documentary, “HORSE WOMAN,” @horsewomandoc which will be coming out very soon on Telus/Optik TV. As we released our first trailer for the film, we received the fantastic news that we’ve been selected for The 2024 Okanagan Screen Awards! Stay tuned for the upcoming film premiere at the Town Theatre! A huge congratulations to the amazing film team: Director/Writer @mariel_belanger , Co-Writer @sienna.belanger , Asst-Director Victoria Jaenig, Co-Producer Keli Westgate @permiekeli , Cinematographer Darko Sikman @darkosikman , and myself as the editor. Working on this film was an incredible experience, and we hope you’ll join us on this journey as we await responses from other film festivals we’ve entered. Please watch, share the trailer, and follow us on our social media channels. Once we confirm the premiere date, let’s sell out #VERNONBC ! Once again, thank you for all the support these past few weeks. We hope you have a fantastic weekend! #Documentary #Okanagan #VernonBC #Indigenous #IndigenousWomen #Storytelling #Storyhive #HorseWomanDock #HorseWoman #VideoEditor by @phreeagentcreative

We’re extra excited about our latest video launch for the Shuswap North Okanagan Division of Family Practice. Getting to know this organization better and all the amazing doctors affiliated with ‘SNO’ in our communities has been eye opening for us. It’s great to see them doing such great work and bringing excellent medical care professionals to our communities. “We are a hub of local innovation in health care and part of a province-wide initiative designed to strengthen health care in BC. Our membership includes over 120 Family Physicians and Nurse Practitioners across 35 clinics in Vernon, Lumby, Armstrong, Enderby, Sicamous, Salmon Arm, and Sorrento.” Check out the newest video we’ve created for them - you may have even seen it playing in the UK or US recently! Talk about first impressions. From the first time we met for a meeting in Polson Park to the very last shot of our shoot on top of turtle Mountain, Diana always delivered. @dianawilsonvernon As we continued filming in record time due to her uncanny professionalism and preparation, it was hard, not imagining her already as a City counselor. It was that kind of grace confidence and humility that we found so appealing and enjoyable to work with her and her team. I’m so happy with how the videos turned out and we’re wishing Diana the best of luck on her run for counselor for the City of Vernon. We know she would be a We know she would be an excellent representative for our communities. Thank you again Diana for trusting Phreeagent with your video project. The project that just keeps giving and giving a year later! You may remember that last year, thanks to a strong and generous initiative from the @cfnokanagan - we had the opportunity to work alongside several local non-profit organizations to help amplify their stories through video. So far we’ve featured and released @vernonimmigrantservices @landtotable and now our next was for VDACL, recently rebranded to @venturelivingvernon ! Over the last year we’ve seen our relationship grow with Venture Living through this connection working together on this video. We’ve filmed and participated in other milestone celebrations while getting to know the staff and community more. It’s been a true pleasure for us to help serve this community and share their message and incredible work. “Venture Living provides inclusive residential, community, employment, and vocational programs that support individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Vernon and the North Okanagan. We are a non-profit organization supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to pursue their goals, strengthen their independence, develop meaningful relationships, and participate fully in community life.”\ Once again, a huge thanks to @leannehammond and @judebrunt for their vision, trust, and belief in doing things a little differently. We have 2 more videos left to go - hopefully being released soon! Big hugs to @RyanCucheron, Maja and the entire staff and community at Venture Living Go check out their great website too. https://www.ventureliving.ca/ #phreeagentcreative #multimediaservices #videoproduction #VernonBC #KelownaBC by @phreeagentcreative
Hello, how are you? Truly, how are you doing? We hope you are safe and we hope you are not alone. The last couple weeks we’ve taken a break from the usual social media & client promotion - so we can help our community. It has been a difficult couple of weeks for communities throughout British Columbia and Canada during this intense wildfire season. Even as I write this, fires rage. But today there are clearer skies in Vernon and deep breaths fill my lungs. So I’m grateful with a moment of peace. While this time, my family wasn’t evacuated, everyone on Westside Road had to flee at a moments notice. I too remember getting a call to look out my window years ago and seeing the hillside on fire and leaving in minutes. Shock and horror. I feel all of it again each fire season. Each time a fire truck siren rings in August, it’s time to re-check the bug out bags. Once again I’m beyond grateful and humbled by the relentless work by all our firefighters and first responders across Canada, British Columbia, and other countries like Mexico and Columbia. While here in Vernon our ESS services, OKIB and City of Vernon communications teams were valuable resources of up to date information. Thank you and a big hug. Obrigado e um grande abraco. The past weeks we witnessed first hand, the immense capacity our community has to help, volunteer, support, take in evacuees, give and love. Open hearts that will be needed for months to come. The Bradley Creek Fire has changed our community forever and it will take time, support and love to help everyone through each step. It will also take great stewardship and strength to make the changes needed for green forests and clean water to flourish. So be gentle and kind with one another. In my years living in the Okanagan, I’ve only seen this community’s love grow. So here we grow again. Lead with love. Love, Vernon. Postcards from the Valley. What you’re seeing here started as a highlight reel — but it became something more once the story found its voice. A few simple words helped shape the feeling behind the trip. That “wish you were here” energy. The kind of VACATION where days blur between lake VIEWS and nights in the park, listening to a VARIETY of sounds that turn into stories you’ll still be talking about on the drive home. “Hi Mom and Dad…” wasn’t just a line — it grounded the whole piece. A postcard home. A family trip unfolding in real time. And maybe… a place you start imagining as more than just a VISIT. Because most destination content misses the mark the same way: too polished, too safe, too removed from what it actually feels like to be here. And a big part of that? It’s often told by people who don’t actually live here. We do. This is our VERNON. This is the pace, the people, the in-between moments you only notice when you’re part of it — not just passing through. The kind of experience people actually come here for. Vernon isn’t trying to be anything else. It has its own VIBE — and that’s what we focus on. Because the goal isn’t to “promote.” It’s to make people see themselves here. This is what it looks like when you let a place speak for itself — and actually listen. If you’re building something and want it to land like this, we’d love to connect. In the meantime… we’ll be somewhere in the VALLEY. #phreeagentcreative #phreeshoots #OkanaganStorytellers #videoproduction #podcastproduction videographer videoeditor by @phreeagentcreative
Giving thanks for those giving thanks! Thank you! @monasheecommunitycoop I’ve said it before I’ll say it again, this was a highlight project for the year. We are so grateful for the people we met through this video and appreciate every word. @bepurppl This little project with Jude has actually been the seed that grew into multiple other video projects all stemming from that same positive energy. To do better in the world. Just the way Purppl has done for over many years. Thank you Jude and Purppl. @b9golfvernon The Ontario connection. Neil and Jenna are the best and their hard work shines through at the Back9 in Vernon. What an amazing community they are building. They are swinging for the green and hitting it every time. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience working with Phreeagent. by @phreeagentcreative
If you’ve ever wondered why we love what we do... this is a big part of it. ❤️ Morning paddles on Kalamalka Lake. Long summer days at Kal Beach. Hikes with views that never get old. Quiet country roads winding through the Coldstream Valley. Coldstream isn’t just beautiful—it’s the kind of place that makes you slow down, look around, and appreciate where you are. The Okanagan is full of incredible communities, and this one will always have a special place in our hearts. We feel pretty lucky to spend our days showcasing places like this. 🌿☀️ #videoproduction #okanagan #videoeditor #ColdstreamBC #dronevideo by @phreeagentcreative
For the past couple of years, we’ve been proud to work alongside the @cityofvernon Climate Action and Transportation teams to help share an important message: living greener starts with the choices we make every day. One of the biggest opportunities? Reducing our reliance on personal vehicles—the largest contributor to local transportation-related carbon emissions. The City of Vernon has made incredible strides in building infrastructure for a more sustainable future. In fact, Vernon is now proudly recognized as the Trails Capital of BC. When our community gets behind a great idea, we make real progress, and it’s exciting to see that momentum continue to grow. From the expanding network of shared pathways and the @okrailtrail Trail to the growing popularity of e-bikes, scooters, and other active transportation options, there have never been more ways to get around without a car. To help showcase these incredible routes, the City partnered with Phreeagent to capture aerial footage of Vernon’s main cycling and walking pathways. The result is an interactive way for residents and visitors to explore the routes before they head out. You can now visit the City’s website and get a bird’s-eye view of rides like the Foothills to Butcher Boys or Downtown Vernon to Village Green Shopping Centre. As Vernon’s transportation network continues to become safer and more connected, the City is also creating new ways to encourage people to get out and enjoy it. A new downtown Bike Valet service now operates Thursdays at Cenotaph Park from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., as well as Fridays during the Polson Park Night Market. In partnership with Julie Melanson of Okanagan Bike Skills, the City is also offering Guided Social Bike Rides to help build confidence and encourage more people to experience cycling in Vernon. Projects like these perfectly align with Phreeagent’s values. To learn more about cycling in Vernon and explore the interactive pathway videos, visit the City of Vernon’s website. https://www.vernon.ca/roads-transportation/biking#gsc.tab=0 #climateactionnow #lowcarbonfootprint #videoproductioncompany @okbikeskills by @phreeagentcreative
