What does small business advocacy look like? Ondrey Lawson, co-owner of @phrostbiteice, came to our DC fly-in this summer to talk about how federal policies and economic uncertainty are impacting his small business. taken in Washington, DC by @phrostbiteice

What started as a warm day at a Texas outlet mall for Mia and Ondrey Lawson turned into a life-changing idea. After some convincing, Ondrey tried an Italian ice that Mia had picked up while shopping. He loved it. That simple moment sparked a bigger question: why wasn’t this refreshing treat more accessible in a place as hot as Texas?

A few years later, armed with an MBA and a formal business plan, the couple launched @phrostbiteice, a frozen dessert business offering signature Italian ice in a plethora of unique and creative flavors.

Phrostbite was on CNN! 😱🍧

Wondering where we’ve been? Well, we’re still doing events around the city, but recently we’ve had the opportunity to let our voices be heard in an effort to bring light to how macroeconomics are affecting small businesses.

We were honored to be featured on CNN International speaking on the real-time impact of rising tariffs, oil prices, and global conflict on businesses like ours.

Grateful to be part of the conversation that matters. 🌍

How have these economic changes affected your small business? by @phrostbiteice

Houston’s favorite Italian ice team, @phrostbiteice , serves air-beaten, fruit-infused Italian ice that offers a smooth, ice-cream-like texture that brings their customers back for more! Their Icicle Tricycle makes it possible for them to show up at markets, festivals, school events, and neighborhood celebrations. We’re inspired by seeing small businesses with heart and community pride thriving.
