31 days. 744 hours. 44,640 minutes. 2,678,400 seconds.

I’ve felt every single one of them.

It’s been one month since I held my mum as she took her last breath in my arms. Not a day has passed without thinking about her, talking to her, or wishing I could have just one more moment.

I miss you beyond words, Mommy. Until we meet again. 🤍 by @phunkybudha

✨ The Adalet Catalyst was more than an event. It was a movement.

From a Turkish–Nigerian cultural welcome to powerful conversations on justice, leadership, and responsibility, every moment was intentionally designed to inspire the next generation.

What many did not see were the layers behind it. The vision, the planning, the partnerships, and the alignment of voices across sectors and nations.

It was an honor to contribute from the ground up and to moderate a panel featuring incredible thought leaders driving real impact across media, law, health, strategy, and mental health.

Empower one girl, empower a nation. This was not just a theme. It was a call to action.

With deep appreciation to:
EndHunger Humanitarian Initiative, led by Dr. Emem Alban
Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Cultural Centre Abuja, led by Mr. Fatih Erkin Mahdum
Aduvie International School, led by Dr. Fola Olufemi Folaponmile and Dr. Ayima Lott-Jonathan

Panelists
Mrs. Sare Tok
His Worship, Hon. Best Amadin Ojukwu
Mrs. Elizabeth Emeka Onwuchekwa
Ms. Yvonne Chinenye Ezie
Ms. Bisola Bamtefa
Dr. Phyllis Ogo Ogah
Mrs. Nguumbur L. Oritsejafor

Grateful for the presence of distinguished speakers:
Ms. Elif Durdu, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, Abuja
Ms. Aylin Bilen, Head of Consular Section, Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, Abuja

To every student who showed up with curiosity and courage, you are the reason this matters.

This is just the beginning. 💫

Last year on this day, I had an accident that almost took my life. Sometimes I still think about how close it was. A lot has happened since then and I know I’m not the same woman I was before that moment. Something shifted in me. The things I’m doing today, the spaces I’m stepping into, and the strength I’ve discovered within myself are things I would not have believed if someone told me a year ago. But here I am, still here, still growing, still becoming, and deeply grateful to God for life🙏🏾✨ photo credit 📸: @nekwuojo_pictures by @phunkybudha

Today we celebrate the strength, brilliance and resilience of women everywhere.

On this International Women’s Day, I’m honoured to be part of The Adalet Catalyst conversation tomorrow. It is a gathering focused on advancing rights, justice and action for all women and girls.

I will be moderating a panel of incredible women who are shaping conversations around empowerment, equity and leadership.

Moments like this remind me that real change happens when voices come together, ideas are shared and action follows.

Looking forward to meaningful dialogue tomorrow.

Last week, by the direction of the office of the Special assistant to the President of the Republic of Nigeria on Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy in collaboration with the Abuja Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, I had the privilege to exhibit my work in front of special dignitaries, guests, family, friends, loved ones and fellow creatives. Rooted in the shared belief that art is a universal language, Iki Àşà uses photography to illuminate cultural identities and creative expressions of both nations. 🇹🇷 🤝🏽 🇳🇬.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to the S.A Mr Ayomide Adeagbo @ayo_xtreme , The Director at the Abuja Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center Mr Fatih Erkin Mahdum, Amb. Adefunke Oni @phunkybudha , Mr Halilu and the entire team for their hospitality and grace through this process and putting together such a wonderful programme. 🫶🏽❤️🙏🏾.

Special thanks to King George Okoro @georgeokoro for your kind recommendations, God bless you Sir ❤️🙏🏾.

Special shout-out to my co-exhibitors Mr Sope Adelaja @sopeadelaja and Prof. Dr. Tuna Akçay @tunaakcay , who showed an incredible display of cultural heritage through the art of photography.

I’m truly excited as to what is to come from this and deeply motivated to showcasing Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage to the best of my ability. Thank you all. ❤️🙏🏾.

My heart is so full 🥰

Watching Rotary International President Francesco Arezzo personally pin my dear dr.ememalban as Major Donor – Level 1 in Abuja was such a proud moment.

Emem celebrates my wins like they’re hers. She shows up. She supports. She encourages. And she gives, not just financially, but with her whole heart.

Seeing her recognized at this level felt personal. It felt right. It felt deserved.

Congratulations my darling Dr. Emem. The world is better because of women like you. 🤍✨
