Hi my friends, readers, and fellow animols,

It’s been a while since I posted here. But it’s not been a while since I wrote. So, maybe I will leave a small trail of word crumbs in the coming days, weeks, months, and maybe just maybe you will push me towards the shore, where I finally rest my first collection…

Your favourite indecisive poet,

Orbit

Note: I read of the 11 year old girl who named Pluto, and I think about the vastness of space outside Earth and the vastness of space between us and the ones we love. This poem is meant to be an orbiting around found language from www.science.nasa.gov and found love.

Happy Heart day, my loves! I hope you find it in yourselves to love even when life gives you reasons not to 💕🦖

I am taking a poetry workshop this semester with a poet I admire so much and it has been wonderful 🥺 While this poem might change and take a different form later, I wanted to keep it here as it came to me and as I shaped it this first time.

Read two poems for a new friend yesterday and I was filled with a forgotten happiness. Sent this poem this morning to a friend who brings unexpected beautiful things to me in times I could really use them.

And now I share this here, as I am taken up by nostalgia for a life that feels far away, yet so close in my heart. For a collection I almost birthed this year but had to put on hold because life.

But I can feel it. I can feel that we will see each other again on paper, before too long…

Are you a history buff? A writer? An artist? Do you like wandering about? Do you just love an evening walk? Or simply looking for something to do with your Poya day? Well! look no further because @artistsafiya.s and I have just the thing for you!!!

Come take a walk with us on Havelock Road, to think about all the ways in which we can chronicle this bustling city we call our home.

We’ve been wanting to do this for the longest time and we are finally getting around to it with this very exciting collaboration with @studiokayamai

A tribute, a love letter to my women who hold me, touch me. But of course feel free to send it to your women too :)

I read this at the @mmcasrilanka at the “On Femininity” poetry reading.
