Unfortunately ‘Bit, between teeth’ has been cancelled by the Trustees at Stepney Bank Stables due to concerns about the content of the exhibition.

Phyllis, Sandy and I are incredibly disappointed, not least because of the hard work we’d already committed to the show. We are working to find an alternative venue. Stay tuned. by @phyllischristopher

Bit, between teeth

An exhibition of photography, painting and performance by Jesse Howarth, Phyllis Christopher and Sandy Kiralawella.

Bringing together three artists whose work reflects on queer desire, power and equestrian aesthetics, ‘Bit, between teeth’ looks to the horse and its associated gestures, objects and imagery as a way of thinking about queer bodies: how they are disciplined, desired, displayed, handled and set loose.

🎊 Exhibition opening: Friday 9 October 6-8pm
🗓 Exhibition dates: 10–11 + 16–18 October 12–5pm
📍 Stepney Bank Stables, Top Yard, NE1 2NP
💌 Open by appointment during the week: email Jesserosehowarth@gmail.com

Some new work! from 'Body in Peril' sitting along side some older work at 'Intimates' show, @hatton_newcastle with artists @maisiecousins Maisie Cousins and @yumnaaa Yumna Al-Arashi.
Curating students from Newcastle University have placed our work in conversation to explore notions of the body, touch and intimacy and they've done a brilliant job...closing party 30th of April, 5-7pm.

Hey all...Does anyone have a copy of this book that they'd be willing to sell me? I'm wanting to use it as part of the family recipe aspect of using my archive to discuss manifestations of queer family...@Lawrence_schimel @cleis_press

'Food for Life...and Other Dish, edited by Lawrence Schimel, published by Cleis press, 1996

Who doesn't need to know what's in Pat Califia's politically incorrect pot roast?...I do remember that I had a total blast shooting this cover...any help locating a copy is greatly appreciated...
