Baan Ekkamai : On Domesticity

Renovated from a private quarter of a 70’s house in Ekkamai, This secluded one-bedroom wing creates a gently flowing interior space which smoothly transits between functions. Each space, from the front garden to the back private courtyard, is semi-connected/separated through a series of solid and transparent partitions, creating one continuous space longitudinally. Also, a series of continuous pocketed curved walls join together the space whilst creating bespoke corners serving a variety of use.

Focusing on every single domestic detail, the material palette of stone mosaics, oak wooden floor and veneer linings, natural wall finishes, along with black accent in handles and loose furniture together form a clean and a soothingly relaxing mood throughout, echoing on every scale, in every turn, at anytime.

Baan Salaya : Roof

The sky above the house is shaped through the roof angles - on the inside, its steeper angle leans inwards to make extra height, coziness and warm sense of protection in the courtyard - on the outside, the gentler angle leans away from the site perimeter to create a light and welcoming gesture.

The structural section through the rooms is identical, yet no room feels the same.
