injury prevention isn’t about avoiding the load, it’s about getting better at distributing it.

Brex explains how fatigue quietly shifts stress between your joints and throws off your coordination, and why sharpening that brain-to-body connection is what keeps you running well, not just running more. ✔️ taken in Good Juju Barbell Club by @physiobrex

Your brain is the master computer, and your muscles only move when your brain tells them to.

After an injury, poor posture, or years of stress, your brain rewrites its movement blueprint to protect you.

It starts overworking some muscles and completely shutting others off.

If we only treat the sore muscle, we are just treating a symptom.

Identifying the weak links in the chain allows us to treat the communication loop between your brain and your body.

By identifying where the signals are crossing, we can reset the system and teach your brain how to move correctly again.

The result? Pain relief that actually lasts because we fixed the root cause, not just the symptom. taken in Good Juju Physio by @physiobrex

foam rolling and manual trigger point release can help you feel better but they’re not the main drivers of long-term change. Brex explains how the bigger levers still come down to resistance training, proper load management, and movement re-training. ✔️

Silver medal in the bag and we ain’t stopping here🥈🇲🇾

When I asked him how this tournament felt compared to the rest, one thing stuck with me: “This one was different, because I was playing for Malaysia.” 🔥

Beyond proud of how much you’ve grown, both on and off the court. Taking the Silver medal for the Asian Games is a huge milestone, but knowing your mindset, this is just the start of much bigger things to come. Full send! 🚀 taken in Good Juju Physio by @physiobrex

Getting out of pain is great, but can your movement survive the demands of your sport? 🗡️⚡

In sports physiotherapy, rehab doesn’t end on the clinic table, rather it ends in how well you reintegrate those lessons back into your sport.

Working through an elbow LCL injury with a Kendo practitioner, we focused on fine-tuning his Kirikaeshi swing using a biomechanical and neuromuscular approach.

By making subtle tweaks to his current technique rather than forcing a total overhaul, we took the stress off the joint and optimized his capacity.

This is how physios assist with sport-specific demands: keeping you doing what you love at your absolute best. 🚀 taken in Good Juju Physio by @physiobrex

Mid-year check-in: 4 courses deep into 2026 and STILL obsessed with how the human body works. 🛠️

Since the goal this year is to be the dumbest in the room 🤡

1️⃣ Anatomy Trains: Started the year diving into the fascia lines, learning how everything in the body is beautifully interconnected. 🕸️

2️⃣ Cadaver Course: A spontaneous, nerve-wracking, but ultimate game-changing experience. As a visual learner, actually seeing the musculoskeletal system and the brain/spinal cord was unmatched for my practice.

3️⃣ DNS (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization): Finally checked this off my bucket list to understand the neuromuscular system (building on my Movement Links foundation). Sharing the room with our Thai counterparts was a deeply humbling and inspiring experience. 🇹🇭

4️⃣ Pre-Script X The Ultimate Blueprint: Wrapped up by diving deep into biomechanics and exercise selection. It was incredible bridging the gap with a room full of coaches who are just as enthusiastic.

💡Fixing lower back asymmetry in sitting. 🪑

When lower back extensors over-recruits, it causes a noticeable imbalance and pain.

To tone this down and balance out the spine, we used a few subtle but powerful cues:

🔹 Promoting anterior pelvic tilt with spinal elongation to create stability (space) in the spine.

🔹 Grounding the legs (pressing into the floor) to recalibrate how the deep core and back muscles fire.

Notice how the muscle tension shifts when the correct leg presses into the floor?

That’s the power of neuro-muscular re-education⚡️ taken in Good Juju Physio by @physiobrex

Movement isn’t just strength.

It’s rhythm. Timing. Coordination.

The ability for the body to produce force efficiently and adapt to load.

That’s why rehab is rarely just about “fixing a muscle.”

Sometimes it’s teaching the entire system how to work together again.

And sometimes… convincing people that even a 21k is not active recovery😭

Stop chasing the symptom. Start treating the system. 🔄

Your pain is rarely the actual problem❗️It’s usually just the victim of another area that isn’t doing its job well.

When we only treat the spot that hurts, we miss the bigger picture of how the body compensates.

True relief happens when we find the root cause, not just patch up the warning light. by @physiobrex

One of the hardest parts about an injury isn’t always the pain.

It’s the waiting.

People naturally want timelines, certainty, and reassurance that things will go back to normal quickly. But healing rarely moves in a perfectly straight line. Some days feel like progress, some feel like setbacks, and that frustration is completely valid.

What many don’t see is that recovery is more than just tissue healing. It’s rebuilding strength, trust in movement, confidence, routine, and sometimes even identity. That process takes time.

The goal isn’t simply to “be pain free” as fast as possible. It’s to come back with the capacity to handle life, sport, training, and stress again.

Healing is a process.

And sometimes the hardest part of rehab is respecting that process enough to stay consistent through it.

What started out as a joke to compete then became real. Everyone quietly started their own training to build our base and then outperformed ourselves on race day🔥
