philodendron Serpens might have the closest thing to my platonic ideal of a perfect leaf
it has: striking red veins on the undersides, the contrast of a rounded base vs. elongated and pointed tip, and distinctive fuzzy petioles that I can’t stop looking at

happy world carnivorous plant day 🥰
nepenthes robcantleyi x hamata from @yuyi_grows has a new pitcher that transitions from light green to a dark, nearly black maroon color. this one opened up about a week ago, and the color’s been changing every single day.
I went from being intimidated to having a nepenthes tattoo planned for the near future. I really love these plants :’) by @phytocynthesis

Hoya elephant blooms are the shortest-lived ones in my home. These photos were taken just before the flowers fully opened that night. The next morning, they were already wilting! I’m not sure if it’s a care issue or just how they are, but it’s bloomed twice in this way while my other hoya flowers last for weeks. These smell so lovely and I enjoy them for the short period they’re here 😌 by @phytocynthesis

Hoya multiflora 💫
I’ve had blooms in the past, but for some reason I couldn’t figure out how to prevent all of the buds from falling off. I’d only get 1-3 flowers at a time 😅
a few months ago I bought more cuttings from @onlyplants_sf to combine with my first one. his plant is apparently magical because I cared for them exactly the same way, and here we are with a beautiful spray of shooting stars 🥰 by @phytocynthesis

Hoya decipulae is the first Hoya I bought for its flowers rather than its foliage, because I didn’t want to prioritize flowers that only bloomed once in a while. I thought it would be years before I saw flowers and was pleasantly surprised! now I understand why people buy Hoyas for their blooms 😭 by @phytocynthesis

my Hoya fungii flowered 🥹
this was a cutting gifted to me by the famous local Hoya grower, Anne. I always loved the subtle fuzziness and venation of fungii leaves, so it was a species I chose for its foliage rather than the flowers. this was such a lovely surprise!! by @phytocynthesis
