POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I went to @artgalleryofnsw recently and experienced the work of Ron Mueck with my beautiful friend @pia.ryan19 as part of the Sydney International Art Series.

What stayed with me most is how the work completely shifts scale and, with it, our perception. Things that society often pushes to the edges, things considered delicate, fragile, or vulnerable are suddenly impossible to ignore.

A pregnant woman becomes monumental.
An elderly body becomes vast, dignified, unavoidable.
A quiet moment of someone looking into a mirror, questioning themselves, becomes almost overwhelming.

By enlarging these intimate, human experiences, the work magnifies what is usually marginalised or invisible. It forces you to slow down and acknowledge the vulnerability, the tenderness, the reality of being human.

Standing in those rooms, you realise how rarely we allow these moments to occupy space.

And here, they take up the entire room.

Saturday done right, 💯
Chilling with my friend Jazz, listening to the beautiful sounds of Sam Buckingham 🎷🎵🩷

Truly blessed, or as @creativesbyjas say’s Shukar (an expression of gratitude or thankfulness, often used in Hindi, Punjabi, and Urdu). ✨

60 never looked this fabulous💃✨️
Kindness, strength, laughter, and so much heart, she brings it all, and then some.
I am so grateful for her, for this day, and for all the memories we keep adding to.

Happy birthday, Pia. You deserve all the beauty you bring into the world. ❤️🩷🩵💙 by @pia.ryan19
