Hiked and ran Lake Ellis in Crocs… in the rain😅🌧️
You think a bad day is gonna stop me? 😤💪🏾
At this point, I might have to consider running and hiking in Crocs more often…..They were way too comfortable😂🫡 by @picassora_yassin

Let’s go outside… Lake Ellis x Nithii Falls by @picassora_yassin

Next year, same place, same time and 0 preps again 😭😂🏃🏾‍♂️💨 by @picassora_yassin

Tried to chase sub-2, but ended up with 2:08 😅🏃🏾‍♂️
Honestly, my preparation wasn’t the best…We got to the venue just as the race was starting, so there was no warm-up…We basically jumped straight into the race😂
Then, at around 2km, I started getting blisters on both feet😭 (Tried to manage them with Elastoplast at around 11km, but by then, the damage was done, I had already been running with them for quite a while) I ended up running the remaining 18km with blisters on both feet 😩
The first few kilometres were tough and the last ones were even worse….The heat was unbearable 🥵 But somehow, I kept going, smiling and encouraging other runners along the way….Whenever I came across someone walking, I’d remind them that “the pain is temporary” and encourage them to at least try jogging a little 😂💪🏾

Sub-2 didn’t happen this time, but I still managed to improve my Standard Chartered Marathon PB from 2:12 to 2:08 and I’ll take that 🥹
Not the sub-2 I was chasing, but still a new Standard Chartered Marathon PB and I’m grateful I pushed through. ❤️

The progress so far:
Overall PB - 2:06 (Nairobi Marathon)
Previous StanChart PB - 2:12
StanChart 2026 - 2:08

Will I chase sub-2 again? DEFINITELY YES! 😂🔥

We go again on the next one 🙌🏾🏃🏾‍♂️💨

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE WHO TOOK PART IN THE MARATHON
Whether you smashed your PB, achieved your goal, or simply showed up and crossed that finish line…YOU DID IT💪🏾
We celebrate every single one of you. REST, RECOVER AND BE PROUD OF YOURSELF🥂 by @picassora_yassin
