TIFF 2026 had 293 films. These are just a few of the premieres that made Toronto feel impossible to ignore. 🎬

From dark comedies and emotional romances to psychological thrillers and wildly original genre films, the 51st Toronto International Film Festival brought an enormous range of stories, filmmakers and performances to the city.

And with 293 titles across the 2026 Official Selection, there was far more happening than could ever fit into one carousel.

These are just a few of the films and faces we had the chance to capture along the way:
- The Debut.
- Love of Your Life.
- Alpha Gang.
- Bunker.
- A Talent for Murder.

Five very different films. Five completely different worlds.

That's the thing about TIFF — you can walk into one premiere expecting one kind of movie and leave talking about something completely different.

As the festival wraps, we're looking back at some of the people and premieres that made TIFF 2026 such a memorable week in Toronto.

Three TIFF 2026 premieres. Three completely different ways to make an audience lean forward.

The Debut brought Jesse Eisenberg back behind the camera, with Julianne Moore and Paul Giamatti at the center of a darkly funny story about a housewife who becomes consumed by community theatre. The film quickly became one of the titles people were talking about around the festival.

Then there was Love of Your Life, Rachel Morrison's emotional romantic drama starring Margaret Qualley. The film follows Maya through love, loss and the attempt to build a new life after heartbreak — and its TIFF premiere put Qualley's performance firmly into the festival conversation.

And Alpha Gang brought something completely different: a sci-fi comedy from the Zellner brothers with an ensemble including Lily-Rose Depp and Léa Seydoux.

Three films. Three tones. Three reasons TIFF continues to be one of the most fascinating stops on the fall film calendar.

The Road to the Golden Globes has officially begun — and TIFF was the place to start. ✨

Toronto’s film festival is already bringing together some of the biggest names in film and television, but Saturday night took that energy one step further.

The 2026 Road to the Golden Globes brought actors, filmmakers and industry talent together at the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto during TIFF — officially kicking off the countdown to the 84th Golden Globe Awards.

And this is why awards season is so exciting.

TIFF 2026 opening night was already buzzing — and Toronto came ready. 🎬

The red carpets were packed, the premieres were generating conversation, and some of the festival’s most anticipated films were finally meeting their audiences.

Among the opening-night premieres was The Housewife, Ben Shirinian’s feature debut, bringing Naomi Watts, Tye Sheridan and Luke Evans together for a tense historical drama that has already become one of the films people are talking about coming out of TIFF.

There’s something different about seeing a film arrive at a festival like this for the very first time. No reviews yet. No audience reactions to rely on. Just the cast, filmmakers, cameras and that feeling that you might be watching the beginning of a much bigger conversation.

And that’s what makes TIFF so exciting — you never quite know which film is going to become the one everyone is talking about next.
