Day 26/100

A TON of score making and study today. I'm preparing my first formal conducting experience in front of an ensemble of musicians as well as my first experience playing a secondary instrument in concert! As well as my first band experience....
I'm both anxious and excited to get started with this invaluable opportunity. I am looking forward to making music and having the podium this spring with the SRU Concert Band! Keep an eye out for some clips...👀

Day 25/100 (Typo...)
The humbke beginnings of learning a new piece... tuning these octaves is something I want to knock out of the way now so they will be extra ready for my performance this spring.🎻❤️

Day 24/100
Played their some popular music that I seem to hear everywhere as some standard violin rep in in cinema. Here are a couple I thought to record with the acoustics of the stairwell! Enjoy!❤️🎻

Day 23/100

A video from Tuesday before my placement auditions for the spring semester studying music at Slippery Rock University. The bowings for these chords are CRAZY! It has been a workout to make them right. This is a run of me trying to push tempo. Apparently to the cost of intonation. Oops.❤️🎻

Day 22/100
Knocking off all of the rust that accumilated over the past week. Enjoy the very beginning of my practice session today. Played my scale variations, the Bruch, and the Bach in preparation for my juries. I also had the best run of the ending of the Bruch I've had and I'm actually SO MAD I wasn't recording. 🎻❤️-

Day 18/100
First Symphony Orchestra of the year crushed! Thank you to everyone who managed to make it. It was a full house! A special thanks is to be given to all of my wonderful friends and collegues that have made my 3 years in this ensemble worth every second. Thank you to our acting director Dr. Sean Radermacher and the guest musicians who played alongside us. And thank you to the audience for a standing ovation! ❤️🎻

Day 17/100
Some more score study/practuce conducting the Holst. This time the intermezzo! I think my professor was able to tell me a lot of good advice on different ways to show phrases clearly and get the sound I want out of the ensemble. He also gave me tips on how to not look like I'm about to yell at the band and to use my facial expressions to my advantage lol.❤️🎻

Part of the Bruch I performed last week! This is showing off one of my mistakes. You can see it in my eyes😅. I've had many mentors tell me it's about the story you try to tell and less about the amount of right notes you play. While technique is important, I'm much prouder of the mindset I was able to come into the performance with, and the musicality I was able to express. I hope that this is able to inspire some early musicians to embrace mistakes as it's all part of the process.❤️🎻
