Summer reflections:

Now I am in the rose garden

Embodying her qualities
Cry cry cry lonely boy child
The ground is there to receive my punches

Finding the edges of light
How do I forget what I know?

Re entering

Water drilling
Drops dropping
Stone body
Falling back into awakening
Unfurling to the sun
Hoping it reaches all my insights

I want to understand you
Murmuring to yourself

I smirk
Like eyes half open looking up
My walk is different
I don’t see everything
I am in a daze

Thank you @liviana.angeloni for this photo!! by @piekemaessen

Hhhhhhhhhhhhhh

This column, houses vital channels
Carrying, supplying
Arteries ascending from the heart, branching in the neck

It can tighten, close up, things can stick around in the craw, a telltale lump, a merging of psychic traffic, a crowding and blocking

The tree around my neck, sighing, hhhhhh,
Dancing from, alongside the column, opening, sighing

A bumblebee landed on her butt
It stuck around - for a while - she carried the ladybug on her fingers and hand

In the sand, a drawing dance
she feels from the gut
sometimes things don’t go as planned

She wears her hat while she strides towards truth,
“A wild peach” she says, “I think that’s my favorite fruit” by @piekemaessen

Photographs for @ghaliahconroy and her new work

‘SUNKEN WORKS | who makes the rules?’ Is an intimate live duet between a camera and a body exploring the sexualisation and objectification of black female bodies throughout history.

A few favorite moments of the improvised solo I shared back in June at @the_pool_eindhoven @sectie_c for @alter.expo , amongst other talented artists and their works

I appreciated the space created and gained a lot of insights to take with me

If you would like to know more about the work or share something, please write me
