POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

• Olyve Dewi at Cluster Festival •
How my dear @piekemaessen captured the ephemeral moment of my being in trance. While opening the embodied conduit for ancestral dialogue. Researching human form and the formless. Starting from the framework of the body, moving towards abstraction.

• Veil of the Vessel •
Without the memory of the post-war wound having crossed our gazes, the first generations took their stories to their graves. Now that the silence has merged with the land, we can only communicate through the conduit of ancestral dialogue. Those who came before us remind us of the responsibility we carry. Towards the ones with whom we will share the soil after.

Thank you for having me. Blessss

🟢PIEKE🟢

Tender Structures traces home as something felt, lost, and reimagined. Two bodies search for sanctuary — queering the familiar and inviting us into a fragile, intimate landscape.

Experience the WIP at Come Together (11) on February 5th at Frascati Theater, Amsterdam (Feb 4–6). Tickets are on sale — now via link in my bio

Thank you to all of the generous minds and bodies that joined us in the studio to research together.

TOOLBOX JAM SESSION

At Motion Lab, every day ends with the Toolbox Jam Session—the most resonant moment of the weekend.

It’s where participants gather in conversation, bodily and verbal, reflecting on their dance research, the input from mentors, and their own personal journeys through it.

At Motion Lab, we create space for participants to connect with their own voice, their own timing, and themselves as they are.

Here, the workshop gently, almost unnoticed, transforms into an inner performance.

Thank you all for being a part of it!

Coming week is Research week #21 in CORPO❣️
We are so so excited to have @celiaserrano_ @lily.azur.music @piekemaessen & @lotteee_x
taking over the studio and searching for the In-Visible👁️😶‍🌫️🕳️🤗

To learn more about their project, go to the next slides ➡️ or read the text bellow ⬇️

In-visible

A collaboration of four makers creating a dialogue between movement and sound:
two “moving” artists—Pieke, a contemporary dancer and performer, and Lotte, a Circus/Cyr wheel artist—and two “sounding” artists—Lily on harp and electronics, and Celia on vocals, saxophone, and electronics. Together, they aim to blend their disciplines and foster a balanced exchange between sound and movement.

The common interest of having improvisation as our main focus, makes us able to create from a sense of connection. We believe that this offers a space for playing and freedom to use our intuition and listen. Our central research questions are: “What are the invisible and unconscious forces that drive us as humans?” and “What remains outside our awareness but still shapes our actions?”

About the artists:
Celia Serrano Alarcon (vocals, saxophone, electronics) – A composer and performer from Valencia, now in the Netherlands, blending improvisation, jazz, folk, ambient, and Latin music. She leads projects like Azúmbara and Sounds of Empowerment, a course merging art and social transformation.

Lily Azur (harp, electronics) – A performer and composer with classical training who experiments with jazz, folk, and electronic sounds. Her work is informed by collaborations exploring textures and dissonances.

Pieke Maessen (dancer, performer) – A dancer driven by layered, atmospheric experiences. He integrates human psychology with movement to create intuitive, theatrical performances, using somatic tools to enrich his movement research.

Lotte Sterringa (Circus/Cyr wheel artist) – A Dutch circus artist combining scenography with circus arts. She transforms everyday spaces into unconventional stages, using her background in scenography to incorporate architectural elements and dramatic flow into her work.

You’re invited to The Disaster Club

Within the artist’s process, success is often seen as a measurable achievement. Especially, young creators foster a competitive atmosphere through the use of social media to achieve an aesthetic end product.

But didn’t we all learn at the academy that it’s about the process? About our self-expression and authenticity? About innovation and experimentation?

“The Disaster Club” is a two-day exhibition where makers are challenged to showcase and discuss their ‘disasters’ and ‘unfinished business’ with the public. During this exhibition, we highlight all projects considered as ‘not good enough’, ‘failed’, or ‘not yet finished’, paying tribute to the creative process of young, emerging, and promising creators.
