From Pawz for Pierce’s Playaz to the 2026 San Francisco Gun Buyback! 🐾💙

Pierce’s Pledge Board Member Nika Robani Shirani proudly presented $17,400 raised by our incredible kids to support the 2026 Gun Buyback, helping get guns off the streets and making our communities safer.

What started with a dream and a group of kids who wanted to make a difference has grown into something truly powerful. Pawz for Pierce’s Playaz has brought together young people from across San Francisco to turn compassion into action—and prove that you’re never too young to make a difference.

These kids aren’t just the future. They’re making change right now.

Because when kids come together with purpose, community, and heart, incredible things happen. ❤️

We were proud to sponsor the AFCC Safety First: Family Violence in the Context of Family Law conference, connecting with family law professionals who are on the front lines of some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments for children and families.

We’re there to share the Pierce’s Pledge mission and, most importantly, our resources for reducing access to firearms during custody disputes and other times of family crisis.

Family law professionals have a unique opportunity to help make firearm safety part of the conversation — because sometimes, a simple question or resource can help prevent a tragedy.

We’re grateful to AFCC and Michael A. Saini, PhD, MSW, RSW, for bringing this important community together and for giving Pierce’s Pledge a seat at the table.

During the Hope in Action panel, Lives Robbed President and Lexi’s Mom @nicrubio was asked why she has decided to testify before congress, lobby etc. Her response was that “even though speaking in those spaces can be intimidating, the collective grief and resolve of parents are enough to force those conversations”.

Thank you to @giffords_org for organizing such an impactful event.

Thank you to Lesley Hu and Ruth Moonesinghe for sharing their stories and strength.

And thank you to all of you who continue to support our mission and who stand shoulder to shoulder with us in those rooms.

Last night, we had the honor of attending the 2026 GIFFORDS Texas Celebration of Courage—an inspiring evening celebrating courage, leadership, and the movement to create safer communities.

Lesley was deeply honored to share the stage with Kimberly Mata-Rubio, mother of 10-year-old Lexi, who was killed at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, and Ruth Moonesinghe mother of Rajan, who was killed by police in his Austin home in 2022. Both women have transformed unimaginable loss into advocacy for safer communities. Lesley is proud to stand alongside them and witness their courage.

Lesley spoke about the importance of off-site firearm storage and how secure, temporary options can help keep children, families, and communities safer. We encouraged the crowd to step in during moments of crisis: ask the question and offer http://GunStorageMap.com as a resource.

Gabby Giffords is truly a force, with a safer and stronger America at the core of everything she does. Her courage continues to inspire us.

Listening to Brené Brown reminded us that even in a deeply divided country, there is hope in choosing courage, connection, and conversation.

At Pierce’s Pledge, we believe building bridges between gun-safety advocates makes us stronger. We are grateful for the opportunity to share Pierce’s story and our mission on such a meaningful stage taken in ACL Live by @piercespledge

This law was inspired by the work we do at Pierce’s Pledge. We believe that off site safe storage is the key to keeping kids safe from more gun violence in America.
