One of the hardest decisions a parent can make is deciding when to leave.

In this episode of Grey Minds Think Ali.Ke., Whitney L. Antoniono, Esq. shares a perspective that many parents need to hear:

💛 If you're leaving, there's a reason.
⏳ Waiting doesn't always make it easier.
🛡️ Children deserve parents who are safe, healthy, and able to thrive.

As Whitney says:

"Children deserve happy and safe parents more than they deserve together parents."

Every family's situation is unique, but no one should feel they have to stay in an unhealthy or unsafe relationship simply because they have children.

In 2021, our community experienced the devastating reality of gun violence. At the time, we had no immediate resources and no clear roadmap for what to do next. But times have changed, and we’ve learned that we don’t have to face these tragedies alone.
In the heartbreaking aftermath of the murder of a woman and her child, we stand united in saying enough is enough. Communities across the Bay Area are coming together to take a stand against domestic violence and gun violence, to connect families with resources, and to create real solutions that can prevent future tragedies.
Through education, collaboration, and collective action, we can empower people to step in, support one another, and protect families before it’s too late.
Join us this Saturday at 1 PM in Mill Valley. Wear black, bring a red rose, and stand together with us.

🚨 NEW EPISODE ALERT 🚨

One of the biggest mistakes people make during divorce?

Trying to fight over everything.

In this episode of Grey Minds Think Ali.Ke., Whitney L. Antoniono, Esq. shares an important reminder for anyone navigating separation:

⚖️ Decide what matters most.
🎯 Focus on your priorities.
💛 Let go of the battles that won't change your future.

As Whitney says:

"If you fight about everything, you end up fighting about nothing."

Divorce is hard enough. Being intentional about where you spend your time, energy, and resources can reduce conflict and help you move forward with greater clarity—especially when children are involved.

During the Hope in Action panel, Lives Robbed President and Lexi’s Mom @nicrubio was asked why she has decided to testify before congress, lobby etc. Her response was that “even though speaking in those spaces can be intimidating, the collective grief and resolve of parents are enough to force those conversations”.

Thank you to @giffords_org for organizing such an impactful event.

Thank you to Lesley Hu and Ruth Moonesinghe for sharing their stories and strength.

And thank you to all of you who continue to support our mission and who stand shoulder to shoulder with us in those rooms.

My bill, AB 1974, Statewide Firearm Storage Program, just passed out of the Senate Public Safety Committee! ✅

Thank you to Lesley and Cody of @PiercesPledge for coming to Sacramento to testify in support of this legislation and for their partnership on expanding this program across California.

To find a participating location where you may store a firearm at no cost, visit www.gunstoragemap.com.

Last week, we stood with @amominsfdemands and all our gun violence prevention partners for National Gun Violence Awareness Day / Wear Orange Day.
Gun violence continues to impact far too many families and communities across our country. Gun violence remains the leading cause of death for young people in the United States.

Here in San Francisco, we took action by launching the Safe Storage Program in partnership with @piercespledge and @sfpdofficial - The program gives residents a voluntary, temporary option to relinquish and store firearms with SFPD during periods of heightened risk. Whether someone is experiencing a mental health crisis, navigating a family conflict, or going through a custody dispute, we want people to know there is a safe way to remove a firearm from the home until the situation stabilizes. Our message is simple: if you are concerned about a firearm in your home during a difficult time, help is available.

The program has already saved a life and is so successful it’s being copied in cities across the country. San Diego just launched their program, and LA and New York are next. For more information about the program, check the link in my bio.

If you want to join the movement, get involved with @amominsfdemands and @bradyunitedsf .
