Paris is the capital of fashion. On Thursday 22 October, Melbourne takes the crown.

At Château Merveilles, every French art comes to life: from the Louvre to the royal palaces, from the Impressionists to the great libraries, across more than 3,500 m² of projection. At the table, the art of French gastronomy: Guillaume Brahimi signs the menu, Pierrick Boyer and Quentin Zerr the desserts.

And, of course, haute couture: dress sketches drawn before your eyes, a Paris runway along the walls, French savoir-faire and chic à la française.

Dress code: black tie. For one night, you too will be haute couture.

@reveriecafemelb is a hidden gem, a piece of France in Melbourne 💕 @b2.schneider and I had a mother-daughter high tea at this French patisserie and it was incredible! The food and the hospitality from @pierrickboyer and his wife were beautiful.

For savoury we had the:
-Mushroom sandwich with romesco
-Truffle arancini with shashuka sauce
-Avo tartless
-Coconut mousse layered with jam

For sweet we had the:
-Dark Orange
-Coconut Bounty
-Strawberry Lemon and Coconut Tart
-Biscoff Dark Chocolate Tart with Caramelised Banana

I also had a delicious oat cappuccino and they use real chocolate on top, yum! We asked for everything to be made vegan 🌱

I cannot wait to come back for high tea for Mothers’ Day, my birthday, or a work function! Also I can’t wait to go for coffee and cake here with my close vegan friends. I feel like every vegan in Melbourne needs to try this.

Let the @melbourneroyalshow Best Bites judging begin!
The Best Bites is a new competition held among food vendors, who are encouraged to create the craziest bites at the show.

Case in point- this is a honey fried chicken with lemon iced tea, not beer. But hey that wouldn't be the worst idea.

Can't argue with that chicken 🍗

This was insane. Dragons Breath is a dessert that involves freezing cereal puffs at -60C- and you are encouraged to eat it and breathe out the dry ice!

One of my favourites, which is a big call from a hot dog hater 🌭. This was topped with matchstick fries.

Dutch pancakes topped with whipped cream, melted chocolate and Oreo. And the drink is hot chocolate.

These noodles will turn heads. They are served with fried honey chicken.

And talk about a throwback. This toasted sandwich has vanilla ice cream in the centre and all of your favourite childhood cereals within. taken in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia by @pierrickboyer

Prahran’s got a pastry heavyweight hiding in plain sight 🥐

@pierrickboyer’s worked with some of the biggest names in the game and picked up a few serious awards along the way. Now you’ll find him at Reverie in Prahran, making proper French pastry, pouring good coffee and making it very hard to leave with just one thing.

It’s being billed as one of the largest immersive gastronomic experiences ever created. Three thousand square metres, more than 1,000 guests, a 360 degress journey through iconic French landmarks and superb food and wine.

Melbourne will be the first city outside France to host @chateau_merveilles when it comes to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in October.

Renowned pastry chef and owner of Reverie Cafe in Prahran, @pierrickboyer, will join fellow countrymen @guillaumebrahimi and @zquentin in bringing the menu together.

On the Relish podcast, he gives us just a hint of what we can expect, and there is no doubt, this is going to be huge.
