The first day of fall marks a new season and we’re thrilled to announce that our business has turned over a new leaf…🍂

Our founder, Larry Mellum, has entrusted the Hillyer family to continue Pike Place Chowder’s incredible legacy. As he steps into retirement, we’re ecstatic to support him in devoting his time to protecting the Salish Sea and ensuring a future for Orca whales.

Larry didn’t pass the ladle to just anyone. For decades the Hillyer’s have been woven into our story, working alongside the team in recipe development, chowder cook-offs, and meaningful community outreach. They share our unwavering commitment to quality; serving small-batch, sustainable seafood to tourists and locals alike. The Hillyer’s vow to carry the heart of this historic Seattle restaurant forward with passion, making every first taste of our award-winning chowder a moment to remember.

Woohoo! It’s soup season! & If you’re visiting downtown Seattle, you’re going to have to check out Pike Place Chowder tucked inside of Pacific Place. This iconic Seattle staple is obviously known for their amazing chowders, fish and chips and more.

However, the crowds and lines can get huge at the actual market location. You get a way bigger menu offerings and seating here than the one at the market, but also a huge screen to watch any of the local sports games!

I used to frequent Pacific Place all the time as a child and I’m so happy to see that they’re revamping the place to bring it back to life! Come check them out soon.
