Hello and welcome to all the new faces here! I’m Pilar — the heart behind Pilar’s Pantry 😊
After more than 20 years working in Economics and Finance, I decided to follow my true passion: food, travel and the art of gathering people around a beautiful table.
What started as a lifelong love for cooking became my professional journey - blending the discipline of my financial background with the creativity of the kitchen.
Here you’ll find seasonal recipes, elegant table settings, cooking classes, catering moments and a glimpse into the joy of sharing meals with family and friends.
I believe food is more than nourishment — it’s connection, culture and love served on a plate.
Thank you for being here 🤍!

Still smiling after this very special lunch 🤍!
I still cannot believe that I hosted and had the privilege to welcoming home two of the chefs that I admire the most here in Dubai: Mohammed Orfali (@m.orfali ) and Ahmad Halawa (@chefhalawa)!
You know that hosting at home is always something I truly enjoy... but this time came with a mix of excitement, honor... and yes, a little pressure too😅!
One of the things I love most about living in Dubai is exactly this: the chance to connect with incredible people who share the same passion for food, and to turn those connections into genuine friendships. And that is what made me feel relaxed and comfortable enjoying my food with friends.
We gathered our families around a simple, heartfelt and typical Spanish lunch, full of flavors, laughter, and beautiful conversations.
And in the end, that’s what it’s all about: creating moments with people you love that stay with you forever.
Grateful, happy, and already looking forward to the next one! And, hopefully, I will not be the cook 😉!

Pasta with Prunier Caviar: a dish that proves you don’t need many ingredients when you have one truly exceptional product!
Silky butter-coated pasta, a touch of lemon zest, white pepper and, of course, beautiful @caviarhouseprunier.me as the centre stage. 🖤
Elegant, delicate and incredibly easy to prepare. You don’t need any special occasion for treating yourself. Ready in just 20 minutes!

CREAMY PASTA WITH CAVIAR
Ingredients (serves 2):
• 180 g good quality pasta you choose.
• 30-40 g Prunier caviar
• 40 g unsalted butter
• 2 tablespoons pasta cooking water
• A little lemon zest
• White pepper
• Chives to garnish
• Parmesan cheese (optional)
Method:
1. Cook the pasta al dente.
2. Melt the butter gently in a pan and add the pasta water to create a silky sauce.
3. Toss in the drained pasta until beautifully coated.
4. Remove from the heat, ad a little lemon zest, white pepper and Parmesan cheese if desired.
5. Plate immediately and finish with a generous spoonful of Prunier caviar.

✨Pilar’s Pantry tip: to plate use a shallow white porcelain plate, make a neat nest of pasta and place the caviar generously on top. A few strands of chives are enough!

A journey to Peru: a new cooking class for ladies ❤️.
After my recent trip to Peru, I couldn’t wait to bring some of the amazing flavours of this beautiful country to my latest ladies’ cooking class at Pilar’s Pantry!
For me, cooking classes are about so much more than recipes. They’re about discovering new cultures, learning new techniques, sharing experiences and, above all, enjoying good food in great company.
We prepared some of the most popular Peruvian dishes:
• Seabass Ceviche: fresh, vibrant and full of flavour.
• Lomo Saltado: one of Peru’s most iconic dishes, packed with flavour and character.
• Queso Helado: the traditional frozen dessert from Arequipa, and the perfect sweet ending to our culinary journey!
Thank you, ladies, for such a lovely morning! I can’t wait for our next
culinary adventure 😊.

Last week, I had the pleasure of enjoying a beautiful afternoon with some dear friends at Blooming with Purpose, a special collaboration between The Royal Tearoom at
@atlantistheroyal and @jomalonelondon in support of Breast Cancer
Awareness Month.
Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, from the delicious food and impeccable service to the beautiful atmosphere. A lovely experience made even more meaningful by such an important cause 🩷.
And the sweetest surprise to finish? A gorgeous little Jo Malone candle and a beautiful pink chocolate from the hotel!
You can still enjoy this special experience until the end of October, so don’t miss it!!

Archaeological & Culinary Diary of Peru. Final Chapter: Colca Valley

And just like that, we come to the end of our incredible adventure through Peru.
Our final stop was the breathtaking Colca Valley, a place of spectacular landscapes, impressive Andean architecture and unforgettable encounters with nature.
One of the absolute highlights was witnessing the majestic condors, flying
over the canyon at Cruz del Cóndor, a
truly magical sight!
We explored this extraordinary region on horseback and on foot, enjoying some wonderful hikes despite the challenging altitude. And, because this is also a culinary journey, we even cooked eggs in a natural geyser! They were really tasty! 😉.
For our final days, we stayed at the wonderful Hotel Puqio, @puqio_andean, the perfect choice to unwind after so much adventure. We were pampered with delicious food, beautiful interiors and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel truly at home.
Peru, you have been an absolute dream! I feel incredibly grateful to have experienced such a special journey, full of unforgettable moments, wonderful food and memories that will last forever!!
If you need any tips from my trip, please let me know and I will be very happy to share more details with you 😊.

If there is one thing this special birthday year is teaching me is how fortunate I am to be surrounded by so much love! The celebrations just keep coming and I cannot be more grateful and happy!
After an unforgettable trip to Peru, I arrived back in Dubai only to be surprised once again by my hubby, who had organised the most wonderful birthday brunch with a group of very dear friends, beautifully put together by my lovely friend @chefhalawa 🤍.
I couldn’t have imagined a better way to celebrate my birthday in Dubai! I wish I could have had everyone I would have loved to share this moment with around the table, but I enjoyed every single minute of it.
And the food? Absolutely delicious, of course! So many of my favourite dishes prepared by Chef Halawa, and to top it all off, I got to blow out my candles once again over his incredible Kunafa!
A day full of surprises, laughter and so many emotions. Feeling incredible grateful for my husband, my family, my wonderful friends and all the love that has made turning 60 so special!

This is the pastry tart that I prepare every fall with my preferred ingredients of the season: pumpkin, figs, walnuts and as many cheeses as I can 😉.
It is very easy to make and really crunchy and tasty! I am sure that you will make it over and over once you try it!
Here is the recipe:
Ingredients:
• 1 sheet of puff pastry
• Pumpkin
• Brie cheese
• Blue cheese
• Walnuts
• Thyme
• Figs
• Olive oil
• Honey

Preparation:
• Peel the pumpkin and slice it very thinly using a mandoline.
• Prick the puff pastry with a fork, avoiding the edges. Arrange the pumpkin slices on the pastry, followed by the remaining ingredients. Drizzle with olive oil before you bake it.
• Bake at 190°C for 25 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown.
• Drizzle with some honey and enjoy it while it is warm!

Archaeological & Culinary Diary of Peru
Day 8: Arequipa - A Beautiful Surprise!
Arequipa was an absolute surprise! I honestly wasn’t expecting to discover such a beautiful colonial city, full of charm, stunning architecture and magnificent buildings. Its white volcanic-stone façades and colourful streets made me fall in love with it!
But the highlight was undoubtedly the
Monastery of Santa Catalina de Siena, quite literally, a city within a city! | was amazed by its size, its vibrant colours and the beauty of its streets and courtyards. A truly unique place that feels like being back in time.
And, of course, we cannot talk about Arequipa without mentioning its food! The city has a distinctive regional cuisine, full of character and flavour, quite different from what we had experienced elsewhere in Peru. Every dish was delicious, but my absolute favourite was queso helado, a traditional frozen dessert you can
find on almost every corner. Simple, refreshing and absolutely delicious!
And one last highlight: our beautiful hotel, Palacio Guaqui, @ananay_palacioguaqui, a historic palace that once belonged to the Spanish Goyeneche family. What a wonderful place to stay! Its history, elegance and atmosphere made our experience of Arequipa even more special!
If you are planning to go to Peru, please do not miss this beautiful city!!

Huge congratulations to my dear friends, the three Orfali brothers, on being awarded their second Michelin Star at the latest Michelin Guide Dubai Gala!
Beyond this incredible achievement, @orfalibros has made history as the first restaurant in the world to earn two
Michelin Stars while serving no alcohol in their menu. A remarkable recognition of @m.orfali, @wassim_orfali and @omar.orfali for their talent, creativity, and vision!
Our story with the Orfali brothers began back in 2021, quite by chance, when they first opened their restaurant. My husband came home one day telling me about a small restaurant in Al Wasl serving absolutely amazing food.
Of course, we had to try it! We started visiting from time to time, watching them grow, experiment, and constantly evolve their menu. What began as a discovery of a wonderful little restaurant gradually turned into a friendship, and over the years, we have had the pleasure of witnessing their incredible journey and celebrating their many successes along the way.
Congratulations, dear friends I am so proud of you and cannot wait to see what comes next. Wishing you even more success in the years ahead!
