Hi 👋🏼 I’m Gözde.

Since many of you recently joined, I wanted to properly say hello 🤍
Who is Gigi? Get to know your instructor 💕

- STOTT Pilates instructor (comprehensive certified) + recently Lagree certified — currently deepening my practice because I believe quality takes time ✨
- Dubai has been home since 2013 🇦🇪
- Ex cabin crew ✈️
- Mama to Ada 🤍
- Sourdough baker by talent 🍞
- Spaghetti Aglio e Olio forever 🍝

- I have a new business — my baby — Heroboard, where I give Pilates classes and host curated pop-up events. I genuinely love bringing the active community together.

- I’m also the founder of Pilates Community on Instagram and STOTT Pilates community on Whatsapp— a space where Pilates professionals connect, collaborate and grow. Creating community has always been my thing… even back in my cabin crew days ✈️

If you’re here for strength + community… you’re in the right place 🤍

Say hi 👇🏼 by @pilatescommunityuae

The looks I got from this series 😆

Bewildered.
Agonised.
Irritated (lol).
Relief (when it’s over 😂).

I love it when a move hits you where you least expect it!

This Longbox series also gives you a wide range of opportunities to create a smooth flow. After the planks, you could throw in the classic Quadraped Foot in Strap series or a seated roundback backrowing series.

I thought I wasn’t but … I did it 😙🎉🥳

Thanks to @ricardo.jaramillo.pilates for inspiring me to try this really cool move, with a slight variation (I’m in Pilates V as opposed to parallel toes).

The big range of articulation really gave my spine the massage it needed today.

Now that I know how to do it, I can teach it. Who wants to tryyyyyyy 🥰 by @pilatescommunityuae

“All things are difficult before they are easy.”
Hanging on a Trapeze Table used to just be about a fear of falling.
But, after my #shoulderinjury, the fear changed. It became about the terrifying thought of tearing muscles and ligaments all over again.

Today was a massive milestone. It was my first time trying this completely on my own. With no one else in the room, my mind instantly started whispering:

What if I get stuck?
What if I fall?
But fear only wins if you let it dictate your movement.
#Thanks to the incredible support of my talented Pilates teachers and friends - combined with the deep self-effort to transcend my own mental blocks - practice won.

The mind was overcome. Here we are. Still practicing, still trying, still perfecting the form... and quite literally hanging in there. 🤍

Layering up your Short Spine 🔥

Lots of core to maintain that “float” as you energise and press through the hips and hamstrings.

Your arms play a crucial role too. Press your palms and triceps down firmly throughout the movement. by @pilatescommunityuae

Pelvic Press on Trapeze Table, where my mental strength is challenged more than my physical strength.
A true reminder of what a calm mind can achieve vs otherwise.

While you see aesthetic videos of people hanging upside down and moving gracefully on a Trapeze Table. Here I am just trying to get my feet into a fuzzy. We all have to start somewhere, you know?

Do you think I made it to the fuzzies on my own ?

For the ones who want a strong, firmer middle, catch the killer at the end of this reel!

***

If you want to tighten and define your midline, you need to work your obliques — and the side bend series on the shortbox does exactly that.

Save this to try with your instructor. ✨ by @pilatescommunityuae

But make it Reformer Pilates 🤩

NGL totally obsessed with this moving plank challenge, done so beautifully by Kim Mu-Yeol. Took all my focus keep the hips in position and press up with the triceps.

Tried this on a medium spring first, then upped the challenge to a light spring which was wayyyyy too hard 🤣

POV: You thought Pilates was easy… until the reformer said “ONE MORE REP.” 😮‍💨🔥

Control your body. Challenge your limits.
