FLACC & Piñata Dance Collective is committed to the Palestinian Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).

FLACC & PDC is in solidarity with the people of Palestine against colonial occupation, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and genocide.

We commit to the call from the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement to operate in accordance with guidelines for the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI).

We encourage other dance organizations and collectives of all sizes and structures to commit to PACBI.

In accordance with the PACBI guidelines, we refuse to:
- Program or collaborate on projects that have received funding from Israeli state institutions.
- Partner with, promote, or otherwise collaborate with institutions who seek to whitewash and normalize Israel’s violations of international law.
This boycott serves to distance ourselves from any activities, institutions or funding which promote Zionist ideology. This is not a boycott of individuals based on their identities such as citizenship, race, gender, sexuality, or religion.

Night sweats menopause august venus falling #balletslippers
I got this T-shirt screen printed at a fundraiser for Palestine in Berkeley last year. Always representing no matter where I am . Liberation starts at home. Gratitude to Matt Romain for doing most of the work involved in building me a dance floor in my mom‘s backyard. It was not easy! But I am in love with the night sky… by @pinatadances

I’m teaching a somatic dance workshop where I took my very first ballet class at age 12:-) Village Dance Arts in Claremont… join me on unceded Tongva Gabrielino land.

Friday August 14, 5-8pm !

Body Mythology: An introduction to the Tamalpa Life-Art Process®

“If your body could speak, what would it say?”
A somatic movement class for adults.

Using an intermodal arts process of movement, drawing and writing, participants will explore the interplay between the physical, emotional and mental levels of awareness in solo, duet and group improvisation. Our bodies carry sensation, feelings, memory and somatic wisdom that longs to be expressed in a supportive and non-judgemental creative process. In the spirit of personal development and collective care, this is a space to let the body move and communicate in relationship to self, others and the world at large. The Tamalpa Life-Art Process® is a movement-based expressive arts therapy modality historically rooted in the field of Somatics and the Post-Modern Dance era. It traverses the intersection of mental health, social justice and performance. This peer-based aesthetic feedback and witnessing method serves as a building block to collective liberation, expanding movement vocabulary and dance as a healing art.
