Yohji Yamamoto AW/26 Show

There is no other show like Yohji. It always rolls out as a theatre play, models walk slowly so there is plenty of time to catch all the details and with every glance you notice something new. This show was no exception, the play of form, silhouettes and volume(yes even the hair volume) felt magical. This is no commercial show but true art shown through craft of fabric.

The show was opened by the arrival of group of children who walked out in oversized suits and took the stage as orchestra. They played classic songs, out of tune, fun.
The models wore mouthpieces that symbolized the iconic 4 stitches.
The looks: full black leather, transparent knit top, cropped trench, full length trench with a twist, cut toes on men’s shoes, jacket that looked as if it was made out of an old painting, bedazzled tops, taped tops and dresses which made the garments more personal and fitted to the wearer and of course florals because it’s a collection for spring.
