Immigrant rights advocates from Oregon For All, the Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC), Innovation Law Lab, and the ACLU of Oregon came together for a press conference to raise the alarm about increased immigration enforcement across our state.

Over the past several days, ICE sightings and detentions have been reported in communities across Oregon. PIRC has confirmed that at least 21 people were detained between Tuesday and Wednesday this week.

These detentions impact entire families and communities. No one should have to fear going to work, taking their children to school, or seeking medical care because of their immigration status. We must not allow fear to become normalized. We stand with our immigrant neighbors and demand accountability, transparency, and the protection of our rights.

Defensores de los derechos de las personas inmigrantes de Oregon For All, la Coalición por los Derechos de las Personas Inmigrantes de Portland (PIRC), Innovation Law Lab y la ACLU de Oregon se reunieron en una conferencia de prensa para alertar sobre el aumento de las acciones de control migratorio en todo nuestro estado.

Durante los últimos días, se han reportado avistamientos de ICE y detenciones en comunidades de todo Oregon. PIRC ha confirmado que al menos 21 personas fueron detenidas entre el martes y el miércoles de esta semana.

Strategic Research & Power Mapping 101

🗓️ Thursday, October 15th 6-9 pm

This training will introduce participants to the basics of strategic research and power mapping with the aim of understanding and engaging corporations and other institutional power within an organizing campaign. The training will use an example from the labor movement as a case study to discuss how to assess and identify a campaign target within the public or private sector.

Participants will be given a general framework, introductory techniques, and basic methodology on how to research corporate ownership, finance, organization, and power.
