[pistachio postcards]

Snapped this on my solo trip to Oceanside couple weekends ago, the colors were amazing. I just love the stillness of scenery like this, been struggling to find a routine lately and still moments like these are so healing. by @pistachio.projects

Day 2 featuring a special personal treasure, this beat up pencil sharpener had accompanied me through so many hours of purely blissful childhood drawing sessions. #inktober #inktober2026

life update ✐ᝰ. Recently made this little painting and sent it off to a dear friend 💛🍋 thank goodness I got it done before things got too swamped over here. A little update : the studio is “done”, but still got some cluttered and little things to clear up, but it is functional now. Between the studio set up and some project deadlines, my schedule has been “a little packed” these days like - what even is bedtime?

Funny story, we reserved our spots for this day a while back and had no idea we got tickets to the opening day until much later. 😅 It was definitely a fun caveat being one of the firsts to experience such a beautiful museum, but the curation alone is worth the visit. It did also mean it was very crowded, and we didn’t have much time in front of each piece — but that’s alright, because that just leaves more to look forward to for our next visit :) If you have a chance, I highly recommend checking it out in person!

Day 7 of getting back to sketching just for fun as a working designer.
I’ve been watching a lot of @sarahburnsstudio videos and finally busted out the gouache I bought earlier this year. Decided to test out my dry palette for the first time and realized the red totally shattered - something I’ll have to figure out but I didn’t let that stop me from using the kit for the first time !! I had so much fun so this is just the first of many :) definitely been feeling artsy this fall. ✎ᝰ.ᐟ⋆⑅˚₊ 🍂

It is the end of summer the garden is extra lush and full of life, lots of surprised volunteers pops up from under the soil (mostly weeds) but this one’s a first — a once super coveted raven zz popped up out of the used soil pile - as known as the ditch under the raised bed where it’s mostly just an informal compost pile.
I have decided to leave it exactly where it is for now and see if it would “naturalize” in our little patio 😆 has anyone grown zz plant in ground? Should I pot it up instead? by @pistachio.projects

“summer feels” • Los Angeles • 2026
[pistachio postcards]

Documenting the last month of Summer with maybe my absolute favorite snapshot of the season - appropriately of my favorite SoCal flower, the plumbago, which is not a fancy flower at all but one you can find all along the LA freeways. This photo just brings me the summer feels.

This month started with our first outdoors market, which (surprisingly) the biggest take away was how much I enjoyed crafting as I made a sign for the booth with some basic materials - I’ve kind of been on a roll since here are some of them, and there are still some more work in progress / unphotographed pieces and all but I might just save them for a future post.

In other news, I made myself a schedule today, kind of like a college schedule so I can methodically make progress on all the projects on my plate these days. Now I have a schedule I feel like I’m going back to school next week, which is kind of exciting ໒( ˵ •̀ ᴗ •́˵)♡

painted some lemons - this might be my first completed acrylic painting as an adult, I don’t remember the last time i actually sat down finished a painting like this on canvas.

my first mosaic project

my first pop-up sign, i used some cotton rope and a placemat from IKEA’s as-is bins by the checkout

this is the sign looking beautiful in the sun at our first outdoors pop-up.

took a bleach painting workshop - i actually like the front better but i don’t have a good photo of it
