Andrew Nolan. His music carries traces of the Northern English DIY world, pirate radio, hip-hop, dub, industrial music, drum & bass, noise, and experimental electronics, but none of these influences seem to dictate where the music should go.
Based in Toronto, Nolan has developed a sound that can be both physical and strangely cinematic, with heavy bass and slow rhythms sitting alongside feedback, distortion, found sounds, and electronic textures.
His latest album, Black Dogs, released by the independent label GIVE/TAKE in collaboration with Justin K Broadrick's Avalanche Recordings, brings many of these threads together. The album draws on Nolan’s fascination with Northern English folklore, particularly the spectral black dogs that appear throughout British legends, transforming those stories into a sonic world that feels both ancient and futuristic.

Sven Fritz is a German musician and visual artist whose work moves between and visual art. experimental electronic, sounds design and visual art. He is perhaps best known through his musical alias Ervin Omsk, under which he released Peilen (2020) and Schmalster Point (2023). His approach to music focuses less on traditional songwriting and more on sound as space and texture, using noise, oscillators, percussion, fragments of speech, and other sonic materials to create abstract environments.
had a beautiful chat with him and talked about his new imminent release Der Saal tobt, and his latest collaboration with Amédée De Murcia and Johannes Schebler. by @pitbeat

Ruaridh Law is a Scottish multidisciplinary artist whose work has moved across electronic music, sound art, film, writing, broadcasting, installation and technology for more than two decades. Working through a number of different projects and aliases — including The Marcia Blaine School For Girls, The Village Orchestra (TVO), Accrual and Rose and Sandy — Law has developed a practice that consistently sits somewhere between music and a much broader exploration of sound, place, memory and human experience.

Chalk Teeth’s story begins across different corners of the American underground. Before coming together in Los Angeles, the members had already been involved in other musical projects connected to different scenes, from New York to the San Francisco/Oakland area. The three eventually relocated to L.A. within a relatively short period of time, where their different experiences and influences converged into what would become Chalk Teeth. Comprised of Karolina Wallace, Adam Wallace, and Jason Miller, Chalk Teeth create music that embraces contrast. by @pitbeat

Founded in 2004 by former agronomist Renaud Guettier, La Grapperie has become one of the Loire Valley's most admired names in natural wine. Based in the small village of Bueil-en-Touraine, in the Coteaux-du-Loir appellation, the estate is built around a simple philosophy: respect the vineyard, intervene as little as possible, and allow each wine to express its place of origin.

Guettier farms just a handful of hectares spread across more than twenty small parcels, many planted with remarkably old vines. Some of his Chenin Blanc and Pineau d'Aunis vineyards date back to the beginning of the twentieth century, providing fruit of exceptional concentration and character. The soils, a mosaic of clay, limestone and flint, give the wines their distinctive tension, freshness and mineral precision.

The vineyards are cultivated organically and biodynamically, with every stage carried out by hand. In the cellar, located in ancient limestone caves, the same patient, low-intervention approach continues. Fermentations rely exclusively on native yeasts, often taking many months to finish naturally, while the wines are aged in old oak barrels without fining, filtration or the routine addition of sulphur.

La Grapperie's production is deliberately small, little numbers of bottles made each year. The estate focuses primarily on the historic local varieties, Pineau d'Aunis and Chenin Blanc. Their purity, individuality and faithful expression of the Coteaux-du-Loir have earned La Grapperie a devoted international following and a reputation as one of the benchmark producers in the world of natural wine.

I had a conversation with Italian composer Fabio Perletta after his residence in Japan. We talked about a recent release on his label, and the new collaborative work developed with musician Giuseppe Ielasi and visual artist Giulia Bruno.
Perletta is a composer and sound artist working with minimal structures, sustained tones, and spatial listening. His work is closely tied to ideas of duration and attentiveness, often creating environments where sound unfolds slowly and invites deep focus.

歌 (Songs), the latest album by Aiko Takahashi, released on Tokyo label ato.archives.
The piano carries a beautiful minimalist composition built around subtle repetition, decorated with delicate delay, soft noise, and lingering reverberations.
Hiss, distortion, and imperfections are treated as emotional elements rather than flaws, giving the recordings a deeply tactile and intimate quality.

Piano Mare - April 2026
The piece reflects on the unsettling stillness of seafood tanks in restaurants and fish markets — artificial environments where marine life is suspended in a state between survival and death. After being removed from the open movement of the sea, the fish are confined to narrow glass enclosures with little space, little motion, and no natural orientation. Under fluorescent light and mechanical filtration, their existence becomes reduced to waiting.

This atmosphere is translated into sound through delay, stretch, and decay effects — where audio material is slowed, blurred, and held in suspension. by @pitbeat
