🏈 Proud sports mom moment! ❤️

Juggling mom life, work life, and everything in between isn’t always easy. The mom guilt is REAL, especially when you miss your kids’ games and special moments. Since Max’s football games are usually on Tuesdays, I don’t get to many, but I’m so grateful for the amazing people who always send me videos so I can still feel like I’m there! 🫶🫶🫶

Today I actually made it… and Max decided to put on a show for Mom! 😂 This morning he said I’m going to do really good for you today….he sure did with…TWO touchdowns! 🏈🏈

This kid never stops amazing me! Those strong Gurwitz genes are definitely showing—always determined, driven, and striving to succeed! 💪 But what makes me proudest is the teammate he is and how much FUN he has out there!

As Yom Kippur approaches, I find myself reflecting on the past year—the good, the hard, the lessons, and the moments I wish I could have handled differently.

To anyone I may have hurt, disappointed, or wronged, whether knowingly or unknowingly, I sincerely ask for forgiveness. To those who have stood by me, supported me, and shown me kindness, thank you. ❤️

May we all enter this new year with lighter hearts, more patience, more compassion, and a renewed appreciation for the people we love.

Wishing everyone observing an easy and meaningful fast, and may we all be sealed for a year of health, happiness, peace, and blessings.

The Coffee Shop Chronicles continue week 14 part B… and seriously, YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS SHIT UP. 😂☕️

Friday: We walk in and discover our 2-month-old kegerator fridge has stopped working. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I call for service, and somehow the person answering the phone completely twists my words and tells the owner that I said his technician broke it. 😳 So now the owner and I are going at it, and I’m like, “Why would I call you and make up some stupid shit when I’m literally calling for a service call?! If your guy broke it, I would’ve called you directly! You should know me by now — I’m very direct, straight to the point, and I’ll tell you exactly how it is. I don’t have time to make shit up and create MORE drama! And if you have a recorded line, PLEASE pull it up and listen to the conversation!” 😂

Once everyone calmed down he said he would send a tech. He came out today and surprise….the fan is burned out and needs to be replaced. THANK GOD it’s under warranty. 🙌literally all the things that can happen are happening 🤯

Then Saturday morning we walk in to… AC DRAMA. AGAIN. Because apparently we hadn’t had enough excitement this week. 😂 Luckily, AC company came out quickly and saved the day because it was almost 80 and 🥵 hot! Thank you Sheryl Soland Knight

Tomorrow is the last day of the week, and at this point I’m just asking the coffee shop gods for ONE UNEVENTFUL DAY. 🙏☕️😂

But on a much more FUN note… 🎃

☕️ COFFEE CHRONICLES — WEEK 14

Week 14… and I officially wanted to throw in the towel this week. 😂 But I’m trying really hard to look at the glass half full… preferably a glass full of coffee.

Wednesday was NEW POS SYSTEM DAY! 🎉 Except while running cables, our internet got cut. AT&T said they’d come by 4 PM… then at 4 PM texted to say they were coming THE NEXT DAY. Nope. 😂 Jeff got on the phone and somehow got them there, and by 6 PM we were finally back online.

Same day, our awesome new hire — who had been with us a week, was doing great and everyone loved — just didn’t show up. No call. No text. Nothing. We still haven’t heard from her. 👻

Today we walked in excited to finally use our shiny new POS system that is awesome… and NOTHING WORKED. 😂 Back to the old system we went for one more day.

But here’s the glass half full part ❤️ — we had no managers there today, and our team absolutely held it down. They worked together, figured it out and kept everything moving. I was SO proud of them.

Meanwhile, we desperately need a couple more experienced baristas. Apparently “I’ve been a barista” sometimes means “I’ve never actually tamped espresso or steamed milk or even worked at a coffee shop.” 😂 Interviews have been interesting.

And because Week 14 needed ONE more plot twist… our breakers keep tripping, and we’re discovering some electrical overload issues that were apparently already there. ⚡️ Add electrician to the list!

It’s Thursday. I’m tired. I wanted to throw in the towel more than once. 😂

But the glass IS half full. We have an amazing team, incredible customers who keep supporting us, and somehow we keep figuring it out.

Now I’m just asking Friday to PLEASE BE BORING. 🙏😂☕️

☕️ BARISTAS WANTED ☕️

Apparently making coffee really IS an art… and finding experienced baristas is harder than we thought!

We’re looking for people who have REAL barista experience — you’ve actually ground espresso, dosed, tamped, pulled shots, steamed/frothed milk and know your way around an espresso machine… not just pushed a button on an automatic machine😉or just want to be one but has no experience.

If you have experience or know someone who does and would be a great fit for our team at Align Coffee Co. please send them our way!

Great personality + great work ethic + knows how to make a great cup of coffee = we want to meet you! ☕️🤎

☕️ THE COFFEE CHRONICLES — Week 10? 11? We’ve officially stopped counting. 😂

Just when we thought maybe the Coffee Chronicles were getting boring… apparently someone said, “Don’t worry, I got you.” 🤣

This week’s episode: Employee Drama — The Season Nobody Ordered. 🎬🍿

We’ve had to let people go. People have resigned. Some of the reasons have been… let’s just say, interesting. 😂

And now we’ve heard through the grapevine that Monday might bring us a little extra excitement involving someone from the Golden Hour days — supposedly a visit to cause a little ruckus and encourage some bad reviews. Whether there’s actually any truth to it remains to be seen, but apparently the rumor mill is alive and well. 😂

At this point I’m considering adding popcorn to the menu and putting out reserved seating. 🍿😂

BUT…the best part of this week is that we’ve hired some awesome new people who we’re really excited about. ❤️ We’re slowly figuring out who fits our team, shares our vision and genuinely wants to help make Align a great place to work AND a great place for our community.

Every single time Jeff and I look at each other and say, “I think we finally have this figured out…”

The universe: “Are you sure?” 😂

Still here. Still learning. Still laughing. Still serving really good coffee.

And apparently… The Coffee Chronicles have been renewed for another season. ☕️🎬😂

Stay tuned. Apparently Monday may have its own episode. 🍿😂

For everyone who is asking how my mom is doing… she did it!! ❤️ 12 chemo treatments DONE and she rang the bell today! 🔔

It’s crazy to think about everything she has been through since her diagnosis. The shock of finding out, a huge surgery, the recovery and then 12 rounds of chemo. And somehow through all of it, she just kept going.

She didn’t stop living her life. She traveled, went out, spent time with family and friends and did the things she wanted to do. Of course there were hard days, but she never let cancer take over her life. She is seriously one strong lady and has handled everything with grace.

It also feels so fitting that she finished chemo right before the Jewish New Year. ❤️ A really hard chapter is ending just as a new year is beginning.

Mom, we are so proud of you. From diagnosis, to surgery, to chemo and finally ringing that bell… you did it. ❤️

Now it’s time to enjoy life, travel, make memories and hopefully put all of this behind you.

Here’s to this next year being the BEST one yet. Lots of health, happiness, family, fun and only good things ahead. 🍎🍯❤️ by @pitzi28

☕️ Coffee Chronicles — 2 Months In

Well… today makes 2 months since we took over Align Coffee Co. Somehow it feels like we’ve been doing this forever and also like we just started 😂

It’s been a lot. Long days, late nights, early mornings and pretty much every time we think we finally have things figured out, something else gets thrown our way. Employees, supplies, machines… there is ALWAYS something 😂

But I will say, things are starting to settle down. We’re figuring out what works, our people are finding us, and seeing more and more familiar faces coming through the door has been the best part.

The drinks are getting better (and prettier 😂), the food and bakery are growing, we’re adding more variety, and we’re still changing and tweaking things as we go. Fall flavors are here she everything is so delicious.

Two months ago we really had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Some days I’m still not sure we do 😂 But we’re learning.

Mostly we just want to say thank you. If you’ve stopped in for coffee, told someone about us, shared a post, left us a review or become one of our regulars — thank you. It really does mean a lot to us.

So that’s the 2-month update… we’re still here 😂, things are getting better, and we’re excited to see what month 3 brings. 🤎☕️🍁
