Last day to see “everything is made in color,” for the closing reception of Heavy Batter: A Show on Absurdity🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

I’ll be sharing some words about this piece during our artist walkthrough, and activating it with a durational performance.

Chicago! I’m happy to announce my work will be on display at the Design Museum of Chicago for our Voices Embodied: Prognostication showcase!

My work “Let’s Sell That” is about non-conforming identities, personal and cultural, the Western eye on Asian/Southeast Asian/ Philippines homogeneity, and nursing tools. Also related to humor in fine art spaces✂️✂️✂️

I came into art school knowing nothing. I had naive plans about Hollywood and a knack for creativity (duh)
I didn’t realize how much was going to reveal in my 4 years about working with fellow artists, with our hands, with clay, and late late late nights spent on projects and giggle gaggling in that glaze room. I grew into CCA’s departments in ceramics and sculpture and animation, in which I found my personal means of making, failing, succeeding, and trying out new ways to engage with the materials & everyday campus life.

Bittersweet ending. I love my teachers, my newfound friends & family, and I love making art forever!!!🫀🫀📣📣👐👐 by @pixbymilli

Wow such a beautiful collaboration with friends, professors, and our cohort to make the end before the end before the end come to fruition! Thank you team for all the hard work & urgency between emails, setup, and coordination these past weeks. This was not possible alone, im very blessed for our group efforts despite the burnouts & institutional obstacles🏆

With all that’s happening these past few months at CCA, it was important for us to grieve and celebrate together. Thank you Taro, Amy, and Ivan for helping us with space & student advocation. Thank you artists for being a part of this & everyone for showing up!
