Meet Vel, far left, the head pastry chef at Cuina. I was granted a front row seat of her and her sous chef’s studio, if I may describe it as such, as they carefully crafted EVERY sweet entree the restaurant had to offer.

Vel was so warm - “sweet” - and welcoming as she talked me through her favorite desserts and gave me a hidden gem guide to her favorite bars and restos in the city! taken in ÇUINA by @pixels1

My grandmother always said, “Give me my flowers while I’m here, not while I’m away…”

It feels full-circle to FINALLY treat my first ever mentor to an experience of a lifetime — a chance to give back to an intellect on an educational and culturally immersive level, who has helped shape the foundation of who I am. Standing before the pyramids, I was reminded that true longevity and strength come from what’s built over time, brick by brick, just like the guidance that got me here.

Mr. Prillerman, I can’t thank you enough for your generosity and only hope that this intentional expedition serves beyond the flowers you deserve.
