Meet Vel, far left, the head pastry chef at Cuina. I was granted a front row seat of her and her sous chef’s studio, if I may describe it as such, as they carefully crafted EVERY sweet entree the restaurant had to offer. Vel was so warm - “sweet” - and welcoming as she talked me through her favorite desserts and gave me a hidden gem guide to her favorite bars and restos in the city!
