hello everyone! my dear friend and colleague Dyvon is going through an extremely devastating loss, their whole make up kit was destroyed. as someone who took me in open arms and supported me when I first got to Miami, it wouldn't feel right if I didn't come out and do my best to support him back. this past weekend was my birthday and it was the big 30, and for a long time i would always think that i wasn't going to make it there because of my past trauma/abuse/struggles, even to this day i'm still dealing with the long term damage i went through. my birthday is a difficult time because i lost my mother in the same week and i felt the loss strongly this time around. i was pretty sad due to certain circumstances/my feelings around my birthday i couldn't celebrate the way i wanted to. but i am so happy to be loved and care for by a handful of people who went out of their way to celebrate my birthday. by being taken to the Kali Uchis concert, being taken out to a ramen dinner, to having home cooked pasta dinner and cake. i am so grateful to have people who wish me nothing but joy and happiness that they'd go out of their way for me. i am so thankful for all of the people who made my birthday special and my gratitude towards them is endlessly. and also thank you for the birthday wishes even tho some of you were late. 🩷🫶🏼 by @pixithekween

with pride season around the corner, i wanted to take the time to self reflect and be proud of the person i am today, i feel so confident in my identity and how i present. exploring my nonbinary roots has made me so comfortable in my own skin. we live in times where queer and trans people are under fire for existing, and i am going to present comfortably how i feel, with no fear of any bigotry. this is also a reminder to all allies that you should be more supportive of your queer and trans loved ones. 🩷🏳️‍⚧️ a world without trans or queer people has never existed, and will continue to not exist. i am proud to be a queer and transgender person. 🏳️‍⚧️

you will face a lot of adversities, hardships and difficulties while growing up. raised by your mother and sib. you’re going to experience a lot. your identity is going to keep changing until you finally find the person you want to be.. one day you will be forced to leave your house because of the person you are. you are going to lose your mother and a lot of people who you considered loved ones will abandon you in your time of need and you are left alone in this new world…. and it’s going to hurt a lot. however… as much as you lose, you gain. you find a new home because of online friends who took you in for awhile. those people are your closest friends and share fun and beautiful memories together. along side with them, you come across the best roommates and you end up sharing a beautiful relationship altogether. facing all the obstacles together you always pull through. did I mention you’re in the business of make up now? you’ve dreamed of that for ages and now you’re recognized by brands and they have casual conversations with you. in your new career path you will come across such beautiful people who aid you in your turbulent times because there will still be hard times and difficulties but nonetheless you make it through that as well. there will be times where you attempt to put end to yourself, three times. each time failing. as the heaviness of the darkness fades and the feeling of sinking subdues, you find a new power within.. having true love for the person who you’ve finally become. despite all the abuse, suffering, misery you still chose to be positive and kind towards people. you chose to still be a loving person even when knowing that you were broken. heart, soul, mind, broken. despite all of that you showed the world that even in your lowest of lows, you chose to be positive. you knew there was more to your life. because of your closest friends, your roommates and new work colleagues… you realize that your mother isn’t the only person who can show the type of love she gave you. what seemed like an endless storm of misery became rainbow. and now you’re on your way to your dream life, on the road to happiness.
