The Designer and The Jewelry: Part 1 B&W A Little Intro: I started designing jewelry due to a happy accident. I was experimenting, trying to create a design that represented the motion of water and ice. From there I kept creating pieces that push this idea while also taking influence from my personal tastes. An as emerging brand I wear many different hats, but I enjoy the way it reenforces my skill set I’ve gained through my degrees. I’m excited to keep developing my ideas my brand into something that represents all my creative endeavors. Ready for what the future holds. VENDOR ANNOUNCEMENT— @planetkcreations Planet K is the physical manifestation of the surreal inner persona fighting to make itself present against a society plagued by conformity, minimalism, and a loss of individuality. The creations serve as explorations of maximalist textures and aesthetics, combined with a unique 1-of-1 “drip” technique. It’s a love letter to nature and individuality, taking materials, forms, and techniques that embrace the intersection of contrast and tension to create wearable sculptures that evoke a haunting beauty. Planet K designs and produces jewelry and accessories at a small scale, with every individual piece becoming a personal statement. Creations span a variety of subject matter, including sunglasses, earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and press-on nails. Designs are handmade with a mixture of resin, studs, vintage rhinestones, scrap nuts and bolts, and freshwater pearls, resulting in no two identical pieces and a truly individualized piece of jewelry for the wearer. Through both the visuals and aesthetics of the jewelry and the intention and mission of the brand, Planet K is the ultimate expression of the importance of maximalist punk and avant-garde aesthetics and textures in a world where conforming to minimalism is becoming more and more mainstream.
