Joanne'story:
I won this Florida 👻, and it arrived frozen to death. Any chance it will recover? Tips please.

Marisa's story (part 2 of 2):
I pressed some of the leaves I lost on my Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma a few weeks ago, and this is what they’re looking like now. Check out all that texture and detail!! 🍂

Marisa's story (part 1 of 2):
My beloved Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma got some really bad root/stem rot, and isn’t looking too great. 😭

Some of the leaves already had some damage and yellowing from when it had spider mites, but a week or so ago, I noticed that the yellowing on the bottom-most leaf was starting to get worse. I recently checked on the roots, and sure enough there was rot.

Because I was showering it more often when it had spider mites back in October, I’m thinking that the soil was staying a little too wet with not enough time to dry out in between showerings/spider mite treatments, most likely causing the roots to rot (and eventually spread to the base of the stem as well).

Although I have a tendency to get discouraged and feel like a bad plant parent when things like this happen, I have to remind myself that it’s completely normal and just part of owning live plants!

Beauty in death! 🥀 Even in her dying moments, she’s still manage to show off gracefully. Sweet farewell beautiful! This is not a goodbye, my darling. This is a thank you.

Michelle's story:
I've had this pilea for almost two years now after I bought it from Trader Joe's as a post-finals treat for myself. My mom loved it so much that I gave it to her. It thrived and gave us huge shiny leaves BUT somehow my mom turned this beautiful baby into a sad stem. 😭

Before + After

Izzy's story;
When I picked it up at Home Depot, I wasn’t wearing my glasses and mistook it for a Fittonia. I had never heard of Hypoestes and didn’t know its care and only realized my mistake after getting home.

Erica's story:
Not dramatic, just neglected. I loved this little rattlesnake, and now I keep it as a reminder to my other plants to show them what I’m capable of. (And to remind me to water my freaking plants.) 😂🖤

Someone complains about their calatheas dying...

Me: OMG, they’re not that hard to take care of

Reminder that you always come first over plants. Things happen. Take care of yourself above all.
