“Unless we demand the changes we want, we won’t get them.” Take the survey through the link in our bio.

Meet Mike. He’s worked offshore for 12 years, and he’s doing everything he can to make sure other offshore workers have job security for life.

This autumn, the government will be building a North Sea Jobs Service to support workers throughout their careers and into growing sectors like clean energy and manufacturing when they want to move.

“I know the importance of job security in our industry,” says Mike.

“Recently, I visited the Department for Energy Security to let them know what I think workers in the oil, gas, and renewables industries need.”

“But one voice isn’t enough, so that’s why I have created this survey with our friends at Platform. This way, I can take your voices directly to decision makers.”

“Your knowledge and experience as offshore workers is critical. If you can spend a few minutes filling out this survey, we can shape our industry for good.”

🚨BREAKING: fossil fuel reps met government ministers 500+ times in Labour’s first year in power.

💀 That’s two meetings every working day, overshadowing the meetings held with climate and social justice groups by three to one.

❌ Big polluters like Shell, BP and Equinor are stakeholders in an unjust system. They’re keeping profits and prices high, wages low and climate action dangerously slow. Our politicians should be booting them out the door of Westminster, not giving them a backstage pass!

🤙Share this story and join our online mobilising call on 26th November, 6-7PM to learn more and take action. We can’t let industry lobbyists continue to crowd out communities, workers, scientists, activists. Everyone who should really be shaping our climate and energy policies. “As offshore workers, we deserve secure, quality jobs. But that’s not always happening.

The government’s North Sea Jobs Service is supposed to help us. But they are not asking for our opinion.

I’m collecting the views of workers and taking them to the government.

So please take this survey. Your knowledge and experience is critical.”

Take Mike’s survey now, and he’ll take your knowledge and experience direct to government.

📢 Join our team!

Platform brings together workers and communities to create new, liberatory systems that tackle injustice and climate breakdown. We are seeking a skilled Digital Communications Manager to help us build Platform’s digital channels and output, and help us creatively shape the direction of our work.

This unique role will help support our two main campaigns, as well as our evolving arts programme. Our North Sea Just Transition project is campaigning on public ownership of the renewables industry, through research, worker outreach and community organising. We are currently working with partners across Scotland to call on the Scottish Government to make a renewables industry benefit everyone in Scotland through public and community ownership. We want to scale up our digital outreach to bolster this work, and grow our network of workers and community contacts.

Our Food Justice project uses arts and community organising to dream a just, POC-led food system in Tower Hamlets into being. Now at an exciting juncture, we are looking to transition this project into a wider network supporting POC communities fighting gentrification across London. We want to support a range of creative storytelling outputs from this project, including building our social media channels, visual storytelling and audio and digital archiving.

We need someone who is excited to help us shape our distinct organisational voice, while sensitive enough to speak to our wide range of audiences and allies.

Application deadline: 10th September 2026

📢 Join our team!

We’re organising for an energy industry that protects workers' rights and creates wealth for communities, especially those impacted by industrial change.

As living conditions continue to decline, the climate crisis deepens, and the far right gain traction, we are looking for a motivated and creative campaigner to lead the next stage of the project. We will continue to work with oil and gas workers while also focussing on securing justice for workers in the renewables industry and impacted communities locally and globally.

Scotland has the wind. 🌬️

Scotland has the workers. 👷

So why aren’t we seeing the benefits?

We’re calling on the next Scottish Government to back publicly-owned renewables. Scotland’s energy wealth should support communities, not corporate shareholders.

Follow @OurPower.Scot and join the movement.

BREAKING ⚡: We’re calling on the next Scottish government to make sure people in Scotland get a fair share of our renewable energy wealth.

Scotland’s renewable energy should benefit all of us, not just big corporations. We’re here to make sure that happens!

We’re backing the movement for:

♻️ Community-owned renewables
🍃 A public stake in offshore wind
🏭 Renewable manufacturing based in Scotland

Let’s make sure that Scotland’s energy stays in Scotland and benefits our communities.

✨ An update from our team: while we navigate a tricky funding situation, we are having to put Fossil Free Parliament on pause for a little while.

🔥 As we figure out the next steps, we wanted to share a few of the wins we’ve already had together against the fossil fuel lobby. Please share the video to help us celebrate!

💗 And in the meantime, please stick with us for further updates — and keep the pressure up by supporting the many brilliant organisations that are continuing the fight against fossil power. by @platform1983

Ghosts of Progress
Tuesday 24 March, 7–9pm
Oxford House Chapel, Bethnal Green

A screening and conversation on oil, empire and the archive.

Join us for an intimate evening of film, sound and shared discussion exploring how oil has shaped ideas of “progress” and how archival practice can help challenge those stories.

The event centres on The Contract, a work-in-progress archival film by @christinadaniellebartson, developed with @platform1983 and supported by @aceagrams Council England and @thedocsociety

The evening will include a short screening, excerpts from composer Nicolas Bavière’s developing sound design, and a facilitated conversation with activists from Platform and Energy Embargo for Palestine.

It will be a reflection on fossil fuels, imperialism, representation and climate justice — and ask how dominant narratives of progress can be rethought.

Wheelchair accessible via lift.

Wine, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks provided.
