Some projects are more profound than others!

When given the opportunity to travel past 80 degrees north, with @the_arctic_call, I couldn't say no. I had to make some major scheduling changes, but thankfully it was so so worth it!

Spending a week in the Arctic, with no phone connectivity, with a group of highly motivated and inspiring individuals really was one for the books! The talks and conversations in the evenings will stay with me a very long time!

I've shot thousands of images and filmclips this past week. Combining the Fujifilm GFX100ii, and the DJI Mavic 4 Pro was perfect for this.
I've only scratched the surface of the material, but will start going properly through when I back in Oslo. More to follow!

September 10th 2001, we landed in New York City on assignment for a Norwegian magazine. Our first story was on a Norwegian chef who was making his mark in the City.

As the flight from Iceland was delayed, we postponed the interview until the 11th. Needless to say, the interview was never conducted

I still remember every second of this day like it was yesterday.

We didn't know what was going on, but it very quickly became apparent that the world would never be the same. And it didn't.

I shot roll after roll of film the 11th, and the following days. One image that always intrigued me, was this one. I believe we were just south of Canal Street, or Church, when I met this photographer. We talked for a couple of seconds before we both hustled on.

I've never found out who this gentleman was, so if anyone knows him, or of him, please send me a pm :)

While on the topic national treasures...

.. Maria Mena is definitely one of them! We got to sit in when she recorded her Perspectives album live in Oslo earlier this year. Can't wait for this one!

All hail the King!

Haakon VIII has succeeded his father Harald V as Monarch of Norway.

In Norway, a lot of people will say that they are inherently republican, and that power should not be inherited.

Paradoxically, most people would also proclaim their love for our Royal Family, and this goes for me as well.

Having had the honour of working with His Majesty on several occasions while he was Crown Prince, I am certain that he will continue the tradition of being the focal point for our national pride, like his father, grandfather and great grandfather before him.

Quiet before the storm!

It feels like all the words that can be said of this young man has already been said in the last couple of weeks.

The image portrayed has been that of a pillaging viking. A ruthless killer in front of the goal. A physical specimen so strong, fast and skillfull that he is almost unstoppable.

Of all the pictures we've taken of this global superstar, I think this is my favourite. For me it is a hint of the other side of this phenomenon.

The one who manages to stay humble no matter how famous and admired he is. The one who focuses on his teammates, when the entire world wants to focus on him. The one who still, after all he's accomplished, just wants to have fun playing football, and score goals.

For us Norwegians, no matter what tomorrows game against England brings, Erling Braut Haaland and the rest of the amazing national squad will be the champions of our spirit, and our hearts. Thank you!
