and just like that, summer is over ⏱️☀️

we spent our days together during this summer: making things, putting on shows, playing, creating, and also… building a giant bird from papier-mâché 🕊️

now autumn is here, and we’re already looking forward to the next summer. and before that: we will have our creative winter camp ❄️☃️

but for now let this be a gentle reminder that time together is precious and that every summer only happens once 💛

What did we do on Day 5 of our summer camp?

We played, ran, searched, solved riddles, and roasted marshmallows over the fire. It was awesome

The first week of PLAY!Berlin Summer Camp is already behind us and here’s a little glimpse of what it looked like. ❤️

Four groups, lots of games, dancing, creative workshops, new friendships, laughter and beautiful chaos.

And we’re not done yet! The camp continues, and we’re still fundraising to help cover its costs. If you’d like to support PLAY!Berlin and help us keep creating this space for children with refugee experience, you can donate via the link in our bio.

Thank you to everyone who has already helped make this summer possible. 💛

Friendship in Turbulent Times was a program worth celebrating, and so were its participants. Recently, families gathered for an exhibition held by PLAY! Berlin. We showcased art of all mediums created by our participants over the course of multiple weeks.

Friendship is complex for anyone to understand, but especially for those whose community has been disrupted by forced migration. Here, teens explored and expressed what friendship means to them through art, all while making new connections along the way.

Huge thanks to the Deutscher Bibliotheksverband (#dbv) for supporting this project through "Gemeinsam Digital! Kreativ mit Medien", part of the federal programme "Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung."

More activities like this will be held during our upcoming Summer Camp - and you can help support us in making it happen at the link in our bio. We can't wait for more opportunities to PLAY!

On 05.07 we held another show - and over 60 people showed up! 💫
Thank you to everyone who came out to support us!

We wanted to share some behind-the-scenes shots from backstage and our prep before hitting the stage.

We’re taking a short break now, but rehearsals resume on 30.08. So stay tuned, and don’t forget to bring your friends to our next performance!🎭 taken in PANDA platforma by @play_berlin

Summer Fest was a success 🌞 Children spent Sunday crafting, upcycling, and dancing alongside PLAY! Berlin.

After half a year of weekly meetings, celebration was in order.

But the fun doesn’t end here — join and support our upcoming summer camp for youth with refugee experience.

✨ Make a difference and spread some joy with a donation at the link in our bio ✨

Making events like Sommer Fest possible means more opportunities for children to create. The art projects created were just as varied and unique as their creators. Participants made badges from personal photos, drawings, and images. They also upcycled T-shirts into new clothes that were entirely their own. Even our youngest attendees made their mark, crafting sunflowers that brought summery sunshine to us all. The day came to a close with a heartfelt performance by Dance Upcycling, our ChanceTanz project. Dressed in bold costumes and colorful wigs, dancers explored the topic of navigating connections in the digital world.

Thank you to ChanceTanz, Kultur macht stark and the Bundesministerium für Bildung, Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend for the support.

Huge thanks to the people, who made it possible: @asya_ash @dr.eamer_ @orchid_fry @marina_merkulovad @missis_spagetti @andriiromanenko49 @leonluap @zhenja_khlebnikov @alenka.na.gorke
