👑 AN AUDIENCE WITH QUEEN VICTORIA PR GIFTED

I was invited along to An Audience with Queen Victoria at Wolverton Market Hall, and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this.

Stepping into a hushed room with Queen Victoria waiting to tell us about her life, family and years on the throne was such a brilliant way to spend an evening.
Rosemary Hill’s research is incredible, bringing so much detail to this one-woman performance and making Victorian history genuinely fascinating.

Being invited to ask questions opened up the conversation and gave us the chance to discover much more about Queen Victoria, her family and life as a monarch.
There was plenty of laughter along the way, with a wonderful sense of humour coming through alongside the more serious and poignant moments.

The atmosphere in the room was quite remarkable. The performance was so immersive that at times it genuinely felt as though we were sitting in the presence of Queen Victoria herself. There was a real sense of being transported back in history, with the audience completely captivated.

I’m a huge fan of Rosemary’s work and would highly recommend seeing her performances. If you enjoy history, theatre, live performance or discovering something a little different to do in Milton Keynes, this is well worth looking out for.

It was also lovely to see such a historic building being brought to life again as a new arts and cultural venue. Market Hall itself dates back to 1887, the same year as Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, making this feel like a particularly fitting way to open its new chapter. Hopefully, this is the first of many glorious live performances to take place here.

As apart of our Heritage Open Day event, we were treated as Rosemary Hill gave us a taster of her as Queen Victoria last Sunday. The Queen mingled with the public, was amused by the activities and even met MP Chris Curtis!

Rosemary Hill returns to Market Hall this Friday and Saturday with her production “An Audience with Queen Victoria” in which we are transported back to the year of 1887, her Golden Jubilee, she will reflect upon her last 50 years on the throne and answer the floor up to questions from her public.

In a week we will be opening our doors to the public for the first performance here at Market Hall! We’re honoured to have Rosemary Hill bring her “Audience with Queen Victoria” - Rather fitting for a building opened during her reign, she even referred to Wolverton as “A charming little red brick town” whilst on a visit!
