Defining Your Artist Identity (Beyond the Color Palette)
A professional brand identity is the foundation for an art career that scales. While a cohesive visual aesthetic is essential, your identity is also defined by how you communicate your why. At Plinths, we believe in building authentic spaces, not templates. Your brand isn’t just your color scheme; it’s the digital reflection of your soul’s work.

Your website shouldn’t just be a digital archive; it should be the most hardworking piece of equipment in your studio. At Plinths, we believe a professional portfolio is the bridge between your physical practice and the global art market. Whether you are looking to land a residency or sell an original canvas, your online presence needs to do more than just “look good”—it needs to convert. by @plinths.co

We worked with @robert_mars_art to completely rethink how his work was released online.  Together, we created a curated drop strategy focused around two specific limited-edition prints and a 12-day launch window.
The result:
• 474% spike in traffic
• 937 page views
• 299 unique visitors
• $3,000+ in print sales
• Sold out editions
By combining email marketing, Instagram promotion, countdown-based launches, and a more intentional release structure, we turned a passive online store into an active event.
This wasn’t about posting more — it was about creating urgency, focus, and demand.

In a sun-drenched townhouse on New York’s Upper West Side, a specific piece of art anchors the room. It’s not just a focal point; it’s a tribute.

We are incredibly proud to see Robert’s work featured in the latest issue of Architectural Digest, showcasing the home of actor Patina Miller and
Robert’s brother, David Mars.

The Story Behind the Piece

The featured artwork, titled Hip Hop Royalty, is a deeply personal project.
Created as a collaboration between the two brothers, the piece serves as a
“Mount Rushmore of rap”—featuring legendary MCs like Queen Latifah, Slick
Rick, Rakim, and Nas.

Seeing this “hip-hop royal family” integrated into the “high-impact
minimalism” of David and Patina’s home is a testament to how Robert’s work bridges the gap between raw cultural history and sophisticated contemporary design.

A Timeless Connection

Whether it’s a large-scale tribute to music legends or his iconic exploration of American pop culture, Robert’s work is about capturing a moment and making it permanent. This feature highlights how a well-placed piece doesn’t just decorate a room. It tells the story of the people who live there.

Artist ASMR Affirmation series #2

There’s a moment in every artist’s practice where the work is out in the world, but nothing seems to be happening.
No messages.

No sales.

No clear signal that it’s working.
So you start telling yourself things.
That someone is about to buy.

That people are looking.

That it’s all moving, even if you can’t see it yet.
Some of it is true.

Some of it just helps you keep going. by @plinths.co

Your Site is an Extension of the Studio Floor!
Your website should feel like your workspace—not a sterile corporate office. If your studio is minimalist and quiet, your site should reflect that. If your work is loud and textured, your digital space should carry that same energy.

At Plinths, we build digital infrastructure that mimics your real-world workflow. We don’t just give you a generic template; we build a system that understands how creatives actually sell—whether that’s through direct e-commerce or automated email updates that keep your community connected without you having to manualy hit “send” every single time.

We’re excited to share that @robert_mars_art has officially released two new limited edition prints from the studio. Available now.
Each print is part of a small edition of 10, numbered and printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper.
Two sizes available — 24” x 18” and 20” x 20”.
Priced at $200 + $12 shipping.
These releases reflect Robert’s ongoing exploration of collage, pattern, and material, translated into a format that’s accessible while still holding the presence of the original work. Limited editions like this offer a way to collect directly from the studio in a more immediate and approachable way.
Now is the time to grab one — once they’re gone, they’re gone!

How artists choose to present their work has a direct impact on how it is seen, understood, and engaged with.

Artists are constantly deciding between digital portfolios, physical portfolios, or a combination of both, each offering different advantages depending on context and audience.

Digital portfolios provide accessibility and reach, allowing work to be viewed globally while supporting tools for sharing, marketing, and sales. Physical portfolios offer a more direct and personal experience, often playing a key role in exhibitions, studio visits, and in-person presentations.

In practice, the strongest approach is often a combination of both. A clear digital presence supports visibility and growth, while physical presentation strengthens connection and context.

We explore the differences between these approaches, along with practical ways to use them together, in our latest article.

your prices make sense
no one thinks it’s too expensive

someone important already saw your work
they’re just thinking about it

collectors are just waiting
they’re taking their time

everything you’re building is working
even if it doesn’t feel like it

this is all part of the process.
