Another artist study, this time focusing on the art-style of @cyanali520 . Why do I do these? It really helps me to broaden my skills when I try and copy styles that do not come naturally to me. In turn, it helps me to have a better depth and perception in my own style.
I highly recommend it, as long as one is not claiming the syle as one's own(and always making sure to credit the artist being copied!💖)
.
Adoring the beautiful upturned noses and hairflow of each character! Don't mind my own character scribble, middle right🤭
.
On another note, I am smitten with this Lyra graphite crayon. It's so chunky, silky, smooth, smudgy and sharp.. all at the same time. Definitely not great for small details, but nevertheless, I still end up using it for small details🤭

Traffic light, stop-light or Robot? Well whatever you call it, I've been wanting to draw one of these bad boys for a good long time now. Finally, the time has arrived, and the result(as you can see) is quite poor. I'll be back for you, baby.

So I've been putting some effort into learning anatomy and am currently trying my best to understand how faces work😅 Here are a couple of practice rounds drawn with @pentelsa oil pastels on regular cheap sketchbook paper. Yes, I am still head over heels in love with oil pastels🤩

Studying. Observing. Every so often I like to mix things up with quick artist studies from artists I admire. I find it can open my mind the the complexities of other styles and learning new ways to draw things without having to spend too much time pushing in a direction I don't plan to go in with my own art style.
Please check out these amazing artists and send them a like or two if you have a spare minute💖✨️

I meant to post this water droplet painting over the weekend, but life got a bit chaotic and so Wednesday morning shall have to do😅 This was made with El cheapo oil pastels and lots of elbow grease since there is not enough oil in the pastels. It's a hell of a lot of fun though, so totally worth it. Definitely didn't turn out quite like I'd imagined, but still happy with the final result✨️

Oil pastels are the bomb. Playing around with them and seeing what's what. These ones don't blend so well, and I do feel a bit blocked with colour options. You definitely need a more textured paper than what I have here, although the main issue at the end of the day is down to the oil pastels' quality. Still, it's tons of fun.

I also really like that they give the feel of working with paints, but with the ease and relaxation that comes with pencils or markers. I dare say they're even a bit more easy-going than markers as you don't have to rush to avoid streaks when covering large areas.
