POSTS STORIES REELS

It is important to us to be clear about this moment, what it is, and where we fit within it. In the past three weeks, we have witnessed several devastating and tragic killings of Black women at the hands of Black men. We lift up the names of Davonta Curtis, Vice Mayor Nancy Mateyer, Dr. Cerina Fairfax, Victoria Alexander, and those whose names we will never know. As recently as this Sunday, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Shaniqua Pugh and her sister were shot by her ex who went on to take the lives of eight children.

Jayla Elkins, 3, Shayla Elkins, 5, Kayla Pugh, 6, Layla Pugh, 7, Markaydon Pugh, 10, Sariahh Snow, 11, Khedarrion Snow, 6 and Braylon Snow, 5.

We are clear that patriarchy is killing us. BMB NC Triangle takes seriously our 6th bar, “Humane and restorative accountability and justice for wrongs committed and an economic and social program directed at the true causes of violence: poverty, racism, sexism, and patriarchy.” It is our responsibility to deepen our relationships with the men in our lives, meaning we are responsible for being aware of, addressing, and interrupting patriarchal ideologies, behaviors and violence. It is our responsibility to ensure Black men in our communities are not lost, isolated, and learning what it means to be men from so-called alpha males, red pill influencers, and men who find themselves deep in the manosphere.

Our hub is committed to deep internal work around our specific gender politics. Our hub is committed to engaging, intervening, and organizing towards self-determination and collective well-being for our communities. We are bonded with women and all black people in the fight for true freedom.

Black men and masculine folks who are interested in organizing towards this end, sign the values pledge, pull up to the circle, and join us in the work. by @pmo.bil_

On October 28th 2024 Amazing Amara Michael was birth into the world. To many more years of new life!!!The moment I got the news, panic and silent anxiety and anguish began to bubble up in me. A few months went by and then the feelings and ideations of not wanting to exist or being here suddenly started, something deeply concerning and unsettling because I’ve never had those feelings/thoughts before. It was the pressure and magnitude that I really was the catalyst to start the incredibly divine process of forming a life in a womb and that I will be half responsible for, until the Lord calls her or I home. It was the first time I heard that precious heart pumping, and that was the moment of embrace for Me. The moment when I felt in my spirit I can do this. I still be scared and unsure of myself in this journey but I know I will live for the beautiful being that is Amara Michael McGruder and for Me. And do the best I can, be present, be patient, be purposeful and be prepared to be amazed at what She will teach Me about Her and Myself. I will Love You forever Lekeshia Marie for carrying her and the partnership in cultivating her. Blessed 1st Solar Lap to My precious Amara Michael McGruder. 🥹🥳🧡 by @pmo.bil_
