no plans, just pure chaotic improvisation fueled by passion for all things you see in the shop -- we've put together something that's an expression of all our interests, including our team's, under the guise of a café. pocket's basically an excuse to have a tambayan, but still put forward good sounds, and great coffee all while providing hospitality as we know best from spaces we've been regulars at. we hope to provide a creative space that truly does actual collaborations with people we admire, brands we enjoy, movements we support, and still make a good cup of coffee while at it. so we hope you guys get to know pocket a little better, and see that people make the place. 🫂

so we've been doing a bunch things the past few weeks, and in true pocket fashion, we're announcing this in the middle of when it's happening already! we've wanted to announce our grand opening before our @jacqueandmatcha and @basiscoffeeoutpost takeover, but we got busy with making sure everything's gonna happen and we didn't want to rush our amazing artist to do this for us. but ta-da! we're announcing our "no grand opening" we've already been open thing+++!!!

we've got a bunch of fun stuff in line, collaborating with brands we enjoy, people we admire, and creative energies that we want in our tiny pocket! upcoming events include a modern and fun book club hosted by @theunderlinedlife , a shop takeover by @guama.world , a special pie menu and tasting with @yourpiefriend, an after hours special with @pusang.galawines , an industry takeover (and post coffee events whirlwind debriefing) with @currentcoffeeroasters and a fun little fieldtrip brunch bar takeover with @guesthouse.coffee at @tandem.mnl, and maybe more???

besides takeovers, we're also doing some special product collaborations with @sgt.mags to make a special pocket lamp we've designed together, a limited edition @leondenimph pocket coaster, and a signature scent series with @otterhausph !

ok, that's a lot! but we hope you guys are as excited as us to celebrate the next few weeks of pocket being "officially" open, credit card terminal and all.

we hope to see you in your pocket of fun and surprises very soon!

aside from our space being another place you can hang out in, we wanted people who can make you feel at home but also make you bangin' coffee. so with that, meet our team ü

Something special in the shop, a tiny box of this Cup of Excellence 2025 #1 Winner -- A Limited Edition roast from @rec_coffee REC COFFEE（レックコーヒー）in Japan. 🇯🇵 Will only have 3 brews of this La Gran Manzana Gesha Washed. Nice and citrusy, with some bergamot, fig, lovely balanced sweetness, and acidity. Treat yourself to something nice. 🫂

Founded by a close group of creatives, architects, and finance minds, @pocketmakati features soft lighting, modular furniture, and a vinyl collection curated entirely by the local community.

Behind the bar, the 2025 Phillipine Aeropress Champion, @ak.arw, serves up drinks like their signature tiramisu espresso. The space also acts as a creative hub for local clothing labels, perfumeries, and food brands, even staying open on days off for industry workers.

A pocket-sized, curated space for coffee, music, and art tucked away in Makati 📻☕️

If you’re looking for a hidden, quiet, listening cafe near Rockwell, @pocketmakati might just be what you’re looking for 🙂‍↕️ The space is filled with a lot of ‘anik-anik’🧑🏻‍🩰, as well as vinyl records spinning in the background 🎶

I ordered a flat white with a flaky croissant from @5gcoffeehouse_mnl ☕️🥐 I enjoyed these, so I’m sharing my experience here!

This weekend, we're having a special guest brewer in the shop all the way from Auckland 🇳🇿 Nelson Soon (@hibiscusposting), prez of @scsc_akl, Filter Coffee Enthusiast -- a faithful Ethiopia Washed/Natural Believer, will be taking over the brew bar with some coffee from @greyroastingco and @eternalcoffee.nz! Nelson's the 2025 Auckland Regional Barista Champion 🏆, a Latte Art Visual Judge ☕, and New Zealand Brewers Cup Judge 👨🏼‍⚖️, and he'll be bringing his experience in the NZ coffee scene to our little shop this Sunday from 10am til 4pm or until his wrists start to fall off from making you some good brews.

A little hidden gem in Poblacion, Makati ☕️✨

Loved the cool, cozy vibes of this small space, especially with its listening bar setup—perfect for slowing down with good music and good coffee.

Definitely a place worth adding to your Poblacion cafe crawl.
