Sensei 5.12a (not). Almost every route I experience in the North Okanagan is significantly harder than its graded. Same start as Omega with a more direct finish on technical granite which never lets up. It’s bouldery and pumpy AND SO MUCH FUN! Shout out to the original developers and to @corechristian and @jeffreywthomson for reinvigorating new@life in this under appreciated and under travelled stone. I look forward to sharing more climbing. Next stop. Eager Beaver.

Hairpin action today. The Squamish granite…it’s been a while since I’ve trad climbed. It’s soooo goooood!

Got to catch up with friends and make a new one too. What a great way to hang around and make memories.

Last night was #defyinggravity @climb.base5 and then up at 4:45am to beat the crowds. 😅

It’s been a very full week of work, climbing and connecting with friends. I used to take for granted we’d get together. Now i need to plan it. Life is too busy to not pick specific dates. If not, years can pass before i get to spend quality time with some of my favourite people.

Climbing on Anvil Island with the goat @timemmett elevates the experience. He has such an extensive background of adventure and performing at such a high level. My day was scary, intense, fun, adventurous, magical but mostly inspiring. Tim is a similar age to me and continues to push the highest level of performance. His professionalism and vision isn’t clouded by any expectations, it’s pure and unrelenting. I’m the first to say inspiration and motivation isn’t sustainable but when it’s matched with commitment to a desired outcome it’s hard to not revisit my own goals.

Climbing over 50 has its challenges, and Tim demonstrated there is a process for success instead of making excuses. Here goes! 🙌 by @poggirific

Priceless.

I’m so grateful when i get to use that word. It’s often when there is no expectation, no attachment, no resentment…..any of those things. All there is, is joy, love and being available to take it all in.

Thanks to all my friends, old and new, for sharing a great couple of days. Oh ya….and the joy of scraping up my knees….its been hot minute since that happened (if you know, you know😜)

New Costco card. I think my transition is COMPLETE, right?! 😆

If only updating my Costco card meant everything was perfect. Let be real, life is a constant journey or growth and breakdowns. In the process we choose to learn, adapt and grow or stay comfortable with where we’re at. It’s not like anything needs to change. We’re perfect just the way we are. Sometimes though, there are things that just don’t work, make us happy or even be fulfilled. Change isn’t easy but it’s definitely a ride. I smile a lot these days even when I have reason not too.

One of the most magical days EVER. Jogging in the snow while the fog was clearing and the sun beginning to poke through was pure magic. The snow flakes were gently perched on top of each other in the zillions capturing the light and causing an illusion of dancing light. With every glance the beauty of nature was astonishing.

This was my first day back being active after having breast augmentation surgery. I’m doing my best to not overdue it. I have at least 30 years of not listening to my body when riding the fine line of too much activity when clearly my body wasn’t ready for the increase in intensity. Hopefully I’ve learned my lesson this time.

Btw, as long as the lake isn’t frozen over, Ember will be in the water. Seemingly she doesn’t know what it means to be cold. 🤷‍♀️ taken in Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park by @poggirific
