SES southeastern championships long course 2025.
Running a very light schedule due to shoulder impingement.. One race each day.. 50 butterfly today. 50 freestyle Saturday and 100 freestyle Sunday. Hope to make finals in all 3.
It’s been a rough couple of months with nursing a shoulder injury due to my crazy growth spurt 😃 but I’m almost back to start training again 💯
Thanks to my amazing coaches at @swimpcst @scott_fortier by @pohaku_zen

A win in the 50 meter freestyle was the highlight of my Southeastern Championships. A new PR for me of 24:43. Now I’m only about 3 and 1/2 seconds off of the world record 😂 that’s still a huge gap but I also get another crack at the SES record (a low 24) next weekend at Zones and again for the start of long course season next Apri/May before I age up to 15 and over. I want to thank my coach @scott_fortier who has been with me for the last 2 years on this journey. I want to wish him the best of luck at his new position at West Point. Congrats coach and thank you for believing in me. Also a special thanks to my Stroke coach Rob Kingsbury. by @pohaku_zen

Today prelims swim in the 200m free was not great. 2:10.
Getting me only to the B final. That was a first 🤦‍♂️
Tonight in the B final I finally learned how to swim this race and went 2:01.86 only to be beaten by one swimmer in the A final, my friend Max Stern @iamswimmermax congrats 🤙 @cat5aquatics by @pohaku_zen

Did you know that……The 15-meter “DQ line” does not apply to breaststroke — you can be past it underwater and still be legal.

After every start and turn, you’re allowed:

* One dolphin kick
* One arm pull-down (hands past the hips)
* One breaststroke kick

Then you begin your first stroke.

👉 Key rule:
Your head must break the surface before your hands turn inward at the widest point of the second arm pull.

all this, regardless of the distance you travel underwater. DQ line does NOT apply. by @pohaku_zen

Southeastern championships February 2026
A milestone in the 50 backstroke. Boys age 13-14
Pohaku is still 13 so to win this in a strong field of 14 years olds is great. 24:16 and a PR. A 1.54 second time drop in 1 month. . #50backstroke
