We are always incredibly proud to see our pointe shoes being worn and loved by our customers, but these photographs are just that little bit extra special.

Eva is a first year student at The Royal Ballet Upper School and recently took part in the centenary celebrations.

Here she is pictured on the iconic Bridge of Aspiration, wearing her pointe shoes, lovingly fitted here at Pointe Perfection.

We had the pleasure of fitting Tabby for her very first pair of pointe shoes and what a beautiful first fitting it was.

Tabby arrived with a detailed pointe readiness report from her teacher, so we knew before we even started that she had been carefully assessed and was fully prepared to begin pointe work.
From a fitting perspective, Tabby has some lovely foundations to work with. She has excellent mobility and strength, a beautiful instep and wonderful alignment, all of which were really evident when she came up onto pointe. by @pointeperfection

Lottie came to us for her second pointe shoe fitting. Her first fitting (fitted elsewhere) hadn’t been terrible at all, but looking closely at how she was working in the shoes, there were a few things we felt could be improved.

Her previous shoes were quite tapered through the box, despite her having a much broader forefoot. The vamp was also very low for her toe configuration and foot mobility, and you can see that she was beginning to fall forwards out of the front of the shoe as the shank became softer. Putting extra pressure across the front of her metatarsals.

For her new fitting, we went with a wider, squarer box and a much higher vamp to give her more support. Despite the new shoes being considerably wider and less tapered, she actually looks more lifted.

Her weight is better centred over the platform, she can get safely over her box without the risk of falling forward when the shank starts to soften, and the line from her ankle through to her toes looks much cleaner. Her legs also appear longer and more lifted because she isn’t fighting to stay on her platform. by @pointeperfection

Sienna came to us for her very first pair of pointe shoes with a wonderfully detailed report from her ballet teacher, which gave us a really useful insight into her technique and exactly what to look out for during her fitting.

Sienna has beautifully strong feet, but it was noted that she can sometimes struggle to maintain a high demi pointe. With this in mind, we didn’t want to choose a shoe that was unnecessarily hard and would leave her having to fight against the shank with her ankles.

Instead, we opted for a moderately hard shank, giving her the support and resistance her strong feet need, while still allowing her to work through the shoe and maintain good alignment. by @pointeperfection

Ella got on perfectly well with her previous shoes, but as we have such a wide variety of shoes available, she wanted to explore whether there might be an option that could work even better for her.

Ella particularly favoured shoes with a higher heel and longer wings, as she felt these gave her a greater sense of security and support within the shoe. by @pointeperfection
