151 Charmander, Charmeleon & Charizard - Artwork Reimagined & edited by PokeRaresSG

The animation depicts Charmander yearning to reach the top, hoping to one day become a Charizard, soaring freely in the sky.

I hope you enjoy the artwork and animation! I’ll be making a post featuring the extended art, as the reel constraints limit the size of the picture!

Only a few weeks away until we drop the full art ex pokemon from 151! This project has been over a year in the making.

These were hard. The original art had 3D pokemon that were tough to extend. And if you look closely at the original cards, you can see artwork underneath - instead of making a new background, I tried to reveal what was there so it’d stay true to the artist’s original vision.

Then there was the challenge of how ex pokemon would dominate so much of the card, leaving little room for additional art. The solution here was to go borderless - this would expand the canvas by 10% and give the card a special presence unlike any other card.

And of course, we have the impeccable texture work from @creative.holo . The texture work on the attacks especially create amazing contrast and depth. The water from Blastoise feels crisp. The venom from Arbok feels striking. The lightning from Zapdos feels alive.

For 151 collectors who pair regular + reverse holos: you know how ex cards break the flow. These full-arts give your ex Pokémon a pair of their own so your binder pages stay together the way they should.

There will be plenty to go around - and for collectors who want something very special, there will also be a limited release of ✨Shiny ex pokemon✨, each shiny is serialized /151.

A big thank you to @poke.rares for help in extending the Pokemon on 8 of these ex cards ❤️
