26’ PFU race reflection
I always think about this race long after it’s over:) Its hard not to. What an awesome day we had on the trails! The initial weather threat had me worried but overcoming that initial challenge set the tone for the whole day!

Standing at the finish line watching rider after rider roll in-muddy, caked in dirt, exhausted, and triumphant from overcoming- I felt extremely grateful! It reminded me why we pour our hearts into putting on this race year after year😁

To every single amazing competitor who lined up for the 2026 Pocatello Fall Ultra: Thank you!

MTB racing at all levels is sooo hard! Its more than just strong legs and bike handling; it tests the absolute limits of physical strength and mental focus. Over thousands of feet of brutal climbing, smile inducing descents and technical single-track, every one of you conquered burning muscles, mechanicals, doubt, and those dark moments of pure frustration when the trail refused to give an inch. Getting to see you fight through fatigue, and push past your limits is deeply fulfilling for our entire crew.

This race has always been and will always be—about people:) Long after the race is over and the bikes are put away, it’s the community, the shared struggles, and the lifelong human connections that define this event❤️ We will always put people and the racer experience at the absolute forefront of everything we do. We strive to make every racer feel supported from the moment you show up in Poky to the second you cross that finish and even if you don’t!

To those who set PRs, stood on podiums, those who conquered their very first race, and those who gave every ounce of effort out on the course but finishing wasn’t to be! We are grateful for and celebrate you👊

A massive thank you to our tireless volunteers, trail work crews, sponsors and the families and friends who cheered non-stop. Your energy is vital and kept your riders pushing.

What an amazing year we had at the 2026 Poky Fall Ultra! Thank you so much for coming! Keep being awesome, keep pushing, keep climbing and carry the positive momentum from this year’s race into your life! You earned every single mile!💪

What a great day on the trails! 🚵🏼

Members and ambassadors of PVTA had the opportunity to volunteer at the Gibson Jack Aid Station for @pokyfallultra, cheering on riders as they pushed their limits and enjoyed the trails we’re lucky to call home.

We loved hearing how much riders enjoyed Poky trails! Their enthusiasm is a great reminder of how trails bring people together - from those who build and maintain them, to the volunteers who support events, to everyone who gets out there to explore and enjoy them.

A huge shoutout to @pokyfallultra and all of the volunteers and organizers who help make this event possible and contribute to maintaining trails along the race course and beyond. The Clean-Up crew! This year, we’re starting our thank-yous a little closer to home. ❤️

Before we thank the incredible sponsors, volunteers, and community members who make the Pocatello Fall Ultra possible, we have to start with the people who are there from the very beginning—our family and friends.

These are the people who answer the phone when we need one more favor, haul supplies, mark trails, set up, clean up, solve last-minute problems, work long days, and somehow keep smiling through all of it. They give up their time, their weekends, and probably a little bit of their sanity to help us pull this race off year after year.

What racers see on race day is only a small part of what it takes to make this event happen. Behind the scenes are some pretty incredible people who show up simply because they love us and believe in what we’re trying to create.

We could never do this without them—and we wouldn’t want to.

To our family and friends: thank you for showing up, pitching in, putting up with us, and helping us make the Pocatello Fall Ultra something we’re incredibly proud of.
